The Birthday Boy

This week at Linda's Compendium of Curiosities II Challenge the technique is Blended Spritz & Flick, and it's being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. This one is probably my all time fav Tim technique! I thought it would be so perfect...for obvious reasons...to use this technique on a birthday tag for a very important person in all of our inky lives...the Business Manager himself. According to Facebook, Mario's birthday is July 26th, and since the Behind The Scenes Man brings us so much joy and entertainment, I thought I would try to give a little back! His son Mario III, has inspired me so much with his new blue print stamp designs as well, so I decided to give it a whirl here on Mario's tag.
Here is the background before adding to it.

Supplies:
From My Stash: leather strip, washer, birthday metal tab, screw brads

I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!

  5. Wow Anita, that's so cool! I love it! He's going to as well, I've no doubt! I love that technique too...

I discovered your blog via Lisa's blog (Mind Over Matter Creations) because she nominated you for the Versatile Blogger award along with me, and I thought I'd check out her links!

Loved reading your profile, and I would definitely say yes, you are an artist - this is not something we should be coy about. Some people think you can only call yourself an artist if you do it professionally and sell stuff but that's rubbish - Van Gogh only sold one painting in his life!! There's a quote somewhere (must search it out and get it right, plus its author!) that goes along the lines of "art isn't about what you see, it's about how it makes you feel." Anyone looking at your art is going to feel something, believe me!

  7. Thanks for your lovely comment, Anita. I made a birthday card this afternoon for a Blogland friend, and I'll be blogging about it once I'm sure she's received it. I used one of my masked flower backgrounds and some of the flowers. This is all So Much Fun lol!!

  8. Your tag is great. I echo the comments about putting away your doubts of being an artist. I look forward to each of your blog posts (I subscribe to your blog) because I know I will come away feeling inspired. What more can you ask art to do? So inventive. I am sure Mario will love it. And so will his son. Thanks as always for sharing.
