Ranger Stickles Organic Flowers Card

Happy Spring everyone!!! I hope you are seeing some Spring blossoms popping up already. If not, then maybe this Spring like card keeps you until you do. Yesterday, I showed you what you can do with Ranger Stickles in the negative spaces of a die cut card, and today I have Stickles on the positive parts, or borders,  of Tim Holtz's Organic Thinlit from Sizzix.
This card took a bit more time to make and more supplies, but I wanted to point out that you can use the same type of focal image die using Stickles in either the positive or the negative areas. I am loving these types of dies...makes it more simple.
Since the positive of the die would be covered up with Stickles, I needed something for the background, so it was the new Distress Oxide Sprays from Tim and Ranger to take care of that. I misted the sprays on one at a time in different sections onto Distress Heavystock and then heat dried. Then I added more on top and misted with water while drying. They are fabulous, because you get the properties of translucent Distress which is water reactive with the properties of a permanent opaque ink as's the best of both worlds...and no mud..just layers of color. I totally love them! These colors created a soft background, perfect for this die, but for some added sunshine sheen, I misted a tiny bit of Wendy Vecchi's Mica Spray in Buttercup on top...perfect!
I added Adhesive Sheet to the back of Heavystock, and die cut the Organic Thinlet, running it through about three times to make sure all parts were cut perfectly. Then I added it on top of the background piece.
As you can see, I think I own every color of Stickles and Liquid Pearls, so it takes me a second to select my colors, LOL! I also prepared my card base, corrugated kraft and a gold piece of shimmer cardstock. I had a piece of Tim's Crinkle Ribbon already colored with Fossilized Amber Distress Spray Stain as well.
I used one color at a time to fill in the positive portions of the die, starting with two new colors of Stickles, Grapefruit and Sunburst. I used a toothpick to pick up any Stickles that spilled over into the negative areas...probably should have waited to adhere the die until after to avoid that. I did this at night so it had lots of time to dry. The next morning, I mounted this onto the gold cardstock, tied the ribbon, and mounted onto the corrugate base. I added a tiny tag that I handwrote the sentiment on, and then decided it needed more. I added the Idea-ology Butterfly, and even added some Stickles on it.

Ranger Stickles Paper Cut Bird Card

Hello Crafters! It's warming up, and I hope you all are finally getting some warmer weather too. Today, I have a quick post for another card (number four) made for the Ranger Ink booth at Creativation this year,  using yummy Stickles, but some of the older colors, as well as Tim Holtz's Paper Cut Bird Thinlit from Sizzix. It was super easy to make, and I hope you can see that you can totally use Stickles for the main medium on a project.
I added a piece of Adhesive Sheet to the back of a piece of Black Cardstock, and die cut the Paper Cut Bird, running it through about three times to make sure all the detail cuts were made perfectly since the paper was a tad thicker with the adhesive on it. Then I adhered the image onto a piece of Distress go to...and then I filled in each and every part of the negative portions with neutral vintage looking colors of Stickles. Since the cardstock made borders for each portion the Stickles filled in nicely without getting on the black borders. So easy...just took a little time, and I always make sure to do this at night so that in the morning everything is no accidental finger pokes to see if things are dry. ;0) Then I mounted this on Metallic Cardstock, and then onto a card.
-Ranger Adhesive Strips and Sheet
-Ranger Surfaces: Black Cardstock
-Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Thinlits Die: Paper Cut Bird

I told you it was super easy! And, I'll be back again tomorrow with another card using Stickles as the main medium, but in another way. Until then...

Ranger Stickles Shine and Sparkle Card

Hello there everyone! Today, I have another card (the third one) that I made for the Ranger Ink booth at Creativation this year using a fan fav product in some new colors, Stickles. Oh how we love the sparkle and glitz that only Stickles can do! Hope you enjoy this short post.
I embossed a piece of Pewter Metallic Kraft Stock with the Dotted Bullseye Texture Fade from Tim Holtz Idea-ology and Sizzix, and all die cut the circle from his Stitched Circles Thinlets. Then I added adhesive strips to all the cardstock ready for matting... the embossed cardstock to Heavystock and then to a Black Cardstock Surfaces base from Ranger.
I filled in and outlined the circles and dots with the three colors of Stickles, and let that dry.
Using the Paper Doll, I adorned her with the same colors of Stickles. I selected the words I wanted from Tim's Clippings, and added those on top of Dina Wakley Washi Tape that was matted to more layered cardstock. Then I added more washi to the bottom of the card and layered on all my elements with more adhesive and foam tape. It is such a simple card to make.

Ranger Liquid Pearls Flowers For You Card

Happy March! I can't believe we are in our third month this year already...February flew by. Spring is fast approaching, so I thought this card that I made for the Ranger booth at Creativation this year would be appropriate, as it's covered with Tim Holtz's Sizzix Funky Foliage flowers and shrooms, and even a fairy, all embellished with Ranger's Liquid Pearls (a few new colors). Hope you enjoy this second card from the show.
Using some older colors of Liquid Pearls, I started with Robin's Egg and squirted some on the glass mat and added water to it to really thin it down. I used a larger paintbrush and painted the blue over the whole piece of Distress Cardstock on the bumpier side. I did the same with the Garden and Gold Pearl and instead used a thinner brush to paint in lines at the bottom to mimic grasses. I love that you can use Liquid Pearls as a watercolor as well.
I sewed around the piece, and then mounted it to blue Metallic Cardstock and then onto a Wendy Vecchi Make Art Perfect Card base. I inked the edges of the Idea-ology Paper Doll with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, and die cut the pieces from Funky Foliage using more Metallic Cardstock.
Using Liquid Pearls again, I watercolored in the Paper Doll and the bouquet of flowers she is holding. I added more to the metal butterfly. I love the new fluorescent tones of Liquid Pearls...the yellow is Lightning and the orange is Outrageous. I also added some brads for her buttons.
I adorned all the foliage pieces with more Liquid Pearls, just straight from the tubes. I layered everything on with Multi Matte Medium. To make the sentiment I had to take words apart and add letters to make what I wanted using the Script Celebration and Friendship Words from Tim's Sizzix Thinlets. You gotta do what you gotta do, and I have done this several times before.
