Eileen Hull Roundup- My Three Favs

Hi everyone. This month at Eileen Hull Designs, there is no theme, rather the Design Team Members and Educators (like me) are showing their three favorite makes from this year using Eileen's goodies from Sizzix.  So be on the lookout for some amazing inspiration that you might have forgotten about or missed seeing. My three favorites are:
Christmas and Winter Cards using Eileen's Snowman and Mitten Large Scoreboard Dies. You can see the original post here

Field Notes Junk Journal using the Notebook XL Scoreboards Die plus several others. The original post is here.

Industrial Christmas Post Box Gift Card Holder and Ornament using the Post Box XL Scoreboards Die plus The Bird Bigz Die. The original post is here.

And there you have it. It is my pleasure to create for Eileen Hull as she is such a wonderful person. In case I'm not back before Christmas, which I probably won't be, I wish each of you the most magical and blessed Christmas  and Holidays ever. Thank you for supporting me and following along all year. I am so thankful by all of you. I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!

Double Stamped, Painted, and Personalized Christmas Gift Tags

Yikes, five more days until Christmas and I am just now wrapping presents. Of course I needed name tags for the presents, so it was Tim Holtz Sizzix Alphanumeric Dies and stamps from Stamper's Anonymous to the rescue,  and using a technique he showed on a LIVE to paint them in.  I hope the recipients will like them.

Using red, white, black, and Christmas papers from the Christmas Paper Stash, I die cut all the initials of the tag recipients using the Shadow Uppercase Alphanumeric Thinlits. I needed a 'Jr.' so I also used the Tiny Type Upper Alphanumeric Thinlits for those letters. I used two sided tape to adhere them together. I cut tags out of red cardstock, and gathered black and kraft tags as well.

(NOTE: I used two stamping platforms simultaneously for the stamping, one for the snowman and one for the deer.) For the kraft tags, I stamped the deer and snowman from the Winterscape set using Jet Black and the stamping platform, as well as the sentiment from the Sketch Greenery set. I did not remove these stamps (except the sentiment) until I was all finished with the painting, fyi. I also stamped the same images on sticky note and cut out for masking. I added the tree stamp next to the snowman and used scrape paper to hold the spot on the snowman, and lay the tag next to it for the tree with the snowman masked (I did the same with the deer), so the platform worked double duty.

I painted in the snowman and deer scenes using Distress Paints and a detail paintbrush. Once dry, I restamped the images over again, masking as well, so that the images were crisp again and yet colored in, using Jet Black. Because the stamps were not removed from the platform, they stamped perfectly over the painted images. I added strips of Christmas Fabric Tape to the bottom of the tags and then adhered the initials of each person the tags were for on top. I inked the edges of the tags with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, and then added the ribbon to the tag hole. On the snowman tag I folded the Fabric Tape in half and adhered it to itself and then added it to the tag hole.

For the red tags with Santa, I used one platform and added all the stamps to it and stamped them at the same time using Jet Black (holly and Santa from Tattered Christmas and holly from Sketch Greenery). I added the sentiment and stamped it in Twisted Citron Oxide and heat emboss in Lime Green powder. Using the Stitching Circle Frames Stencil, and laid it over the Santa and using the smallest frame, I colored in the dots with a white pen. Then I painted in all the images with Distress Paint, and once dry I restamped the images in Jet Black. I adhered the initials of the recipients at the bottom of the tags. I added white dashes with white pen around the border of the tags, added white circle holes to the tag hole, and then tied the ribbons on. For the other set of red tags with the cardinals, I did the exact same as the Santa tags, except the sentiment is in Jet Black and not embossed (the sentiment and branches with berries from Sketch Greenery and the birds on branches from Winterscape), and I added another stamped bit of the branches with berries after I painted and restamped the first parts because I thought it needed a little more. To turn the bird into a cardinal, I painted a little crest above their head with Candied Apple as I was painting in the whole bird, and when dry I used a black pen to draw the two lines in for the crest.

For the black Santa tags, I stamped the Santa from Vintage Holidays using the platform and Glacier White Pigment Ink on each black tag. I left the stamp in place and cleaned off the white ink. I painted in the Santa with Distress Paint right over the ink. When dry, I restamped the Santa in Jet Black Archival. I used a silver leafing pen for the buckle. I added the initials to the bottom, and used the white pen for the lines around the border, and then added the ribbon.
