Stamper’s Anonymous Curations Summer 2026: Happy 250th Birthday USA

Hello All! First, let me give you a big thank you for all the warm comments and messages from last weeks post and my long absence! My cup runneth over. Today, I have the second project shown in the Stamper's Anonymous Curations Summer/Travel YouTube Live featuring the stamps and stencils from Tim Holtz, the patriotic 250th Birthday Thickboard Tag. I used the Retro Carnival Components Stamp as my inspiration for this, and had a lot of fun creating it. I think it would look awesome in a wreath. Enjoy!

Using the Retro Carnival Components Stamp as my inspiration, I gathered the larger stamped images from the Psychedelic Grunge stamp set and kind of planned it out. Using Picket Fence Distress Paint from Ranger, I painted over the Mini Tag size thick board and tag hole.

Once dry, I started from the bottom working up and started stamping. I cut the numbers for the years from the Mixed Media 118 set and added them to a stamping block, then stamped them in Black Soot Archival. I cut one star from the row or stars and stamped it in the middle of the years with Barn Door Archival. (FYI...I ended up needing masks for pretty much every stamp from here on out for the bursts part, so I used sticky note to make them.)

Taking the circle star from Psychedelic, I stamped it in Prize Ribbon Archival and made a mask. Then taking the bullseye from the MM122 set, I stamped it using Barn Door Distress Archival Ink over the mask so the star would be in the middle, all on the bottom right.

I stamped the 'how old' and arrow in Prize Ribbon Archival. Then taking the number stencil, I inked in the numbers 2 and 5 with Barn Door.

Taking the star from Psychedelic, I stamped it in Barn Door and masked it. Then using the stencil with the arrows, I chose the firework rocket looking one and over the masked star I inked it in with Prize Ribbon Archival in the middle of the tag.

I took the mini star stencil from Set 38 and inked in some below the firework in Barn Door. Then using the Alphabet Stamps I cut off the U, the S, the A, and stamped those on the firework and star using Glacier White Pigment Ink, stamping them several times to be nice and white.

I added the circles from Psychedelic to a stamping platform and stamped them along the right side, alternating colors and using sticky notes to mask off the parts I didn't want to be inked using both the Barn Door and Prize Ribbon. I stamped the star circle above in Barn Door, and stamped it again on the hole part in Prize Ribbon. Then I stamped the whole circle image again on sticky note for masking in the next step.

I cut out the masked sticky notes and placed them on the top portion of images. Then I took the Rays Layering Stencil and Glacier White Pigment Ink and inked in the Rays with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. I did the same to the bottom. The ink covered up some parts I didn't want covered up, but I just reinked those parts.

Using the Dot Matrix portion of a stencil I inked in the open areas of the rest of the tag with Faded Jeans Archival. I painted the edges of the whole tag with Black Soot Distress Paint bringing it up over the edges for a distressed look like on the Components Stamp, as well as the hole. Then I adhered the hole onto the tag with Collage Medium.

Using a black permanent fine pen, I outlined every single thing on the tag. I used a white gel pen to color in a few portions that needed more white. Then using 4 colors of Stickles I went nuts with the glitz. Once dry, I wrapped twine around my hand several times, tied a knot in the middle and tied it onto the hole.

Stamper's Anonymous Summer 2021 - Inquisitive Patriotic Card

Happy July everyone! I'm back with another make for the Tim Holtz Stamper's Anonymous Summer release. This one uses the Inquisitive Stamp Set and is in those gorgeous famous colors perfect for Independence Day. Enjoy!
Cut Specialty Stamping Paper from Ranger to 3.75 x 9 inches. Gather Barn Door and Faded Jeans Archival Ink Pads and a  mister filled with rubbing alcohol (I add washi tape around the mister I use for Alcohol so I know the difference between the one with water and the one with the rubbing alcohol.). Using the Glass Mat, apply the two inks randomly to the mat in several places straight from the pad. Mist liberally with alcohol and run as well as tap the SSP through the wet inks. Once you like the look, use a heat tool to dry this or let it dry on its own. Using an Ink Blending Tool and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, ink over any white areas as well as the borders of the paper. Dry.

Lay the inked SSP in the Stamp Platform, and arrange the three gents from the Stamper's Anonymous Inquisitive Stamp Set in a row spaced out evenly, and secure the stamps by closing the platform. Using Black Soot Archival, stamp the gents onto the SSP and heat emboss with clear powder.

Either stamp the gents on sticky note and cut out,  or just cut the sticky note to fit over all three gent's hats. Mask the hats with sticky note and stamp the circle of rings image above the middle gent so only half of the rings show using Barn Door Archival and the platform. Clean the rings, and then replace over another gent's head this time higher so only two of the rings show, and stamp the rings in Barn Door. Repeat with the last gent. You want the rings to look like a banner or bunting. NOTE: When working with SSP, you always need to dry ink before moving on to another step as the ink stays wet a while on SSP, and you don't want to smear it. Using a small piece of SSP, ink over it in Barn Door Archival, dry, and then die cut the medium star from the Falling Stars Thinlits from Sizzix. Stamp only the '4' from the number line image using Faded Jeans Archival. Let dry. Place the SSP card front back in the platform and stamp the number line along the bottom middle of the card in Faded Jeans. Stamp the dots vertically between the gents in Faded Jeans. Remember to dry between stampings as to not smear the ink.

Using a small stamping block and the pluses image, stamp the pluses on each side of the numbers and along the right and left borders vertically on the card using Faded Jeans. Dry. Use Collage Medium to adhere the star over the '4' on the card front.

Cut a piece of black cardstock to 3 7/8 x 9 1/4 inches. Distress the edges with a Distress Tool. Fold a kraft cardstock base card to 4 x 9 3/8 inches. Adhere the black cardstock onto the kraft base using two sided tape, ink the edges of the card with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and set this aside. Apply Hickory Smoke Distress Crayon to the silicone mat and use a Detail Water Brush to pick up the crayon and color in the gent's hats. Color in the gent's hair with Gathered Twigs Crayon. Color in the faces with Tattered Rose. Color in his eyes, shirts, and the open stripes of the buntings with Picket Fence Distress Crayon. Color in the bows and any areas on the red parts of the bunting with Barn Door crayon. Color around the pupils with Stormy Sky crayon. Add shadows around the gents, the bunting, and the star with Pumice Stone crayon.

Ink the edges of the SSP again with Gathered Twigs and then adhere to the card base with two sided tape. Use a black pen to trace the border of the last stripe on the bunting and draw loops underneath to look like ruffles. Use a white pen to add dots to the eyes, and to trace around the '4'. Use Glossy Accents to fill in the gent's monocle and let dry.
