12 Tags of 2015 - December

The last tag of the year...sad huh? I am so hoping Tim continues on for next year! I've enjoyed doing these and looking at all the other tags that you all have made. It's always so inspirational. Here is my version of Tim's December Tag for 2015.
I loved Tim's tag so much, so I pretty much kept everything the same, but I changed the wreath into a tree, because I just finished watching It's a Wonderful Life. I love the ending so much when they ring the bell so an Angel can get their wings.
I tried to make an old fashioned popcorn and cranberry garland, so I used Liquid Pearls to help me along. It's not the best, but it was fun. I even added one little bell so that when it rings....
Instead of using the jingle bells, I used the yuletide brads the way Tim did.

Thanks again for all the comments, especially on last month's November Turkey Tag. I appreciate all of you!

12 Tags of 2015 - November

I seriously am having a hard time believing it's November...not to mention already the middle of it. The holidays are fast approaching...yikes! I've finished my Tim Holtz  2015 November tag, and several other projects while on a retreat last weekend with my friend Carolyn. Stay tuned for a lot more posts showing you the projects and their tutorials!!! Back to my tag here though...I just LOVE the Bird Crazy Stamp Set!!! They truly are so fun and versatile, and I've even altered the one I've used here. Gobble gobble!!!
I always try to do the techniques that Tim has done on his tag, but I usually change up the color or images a bit. Here I stamped the Linen image in Fossilized Amber instead.
I also misted with Antique Linen, Twisted Citron, and Tumbled Glass. I wasn't sure I like the lighter look yet.
After inking with Ground Espresso and flicking water on it though, I ended up  really liking the color of the background.
These Ranger Foil Sheets make any project better! Seriously addicting to use as well!
I stamped and die cut the birds I thought I might use. I choose one, and now have another bird ready to go for another day. I cut the tail off of him, and then die cut more watercolor paper with the new Feathered Wings die. I LOVE this die...more projects to come!
I colored him in, and a few accessories too. I also gave him that floppy, ugly, red, gobbler thing...;0)...made from a piece of Crinkle Ribbon and Festive Berries Distress Spray Stain.
I inked in each wing a different color, but then layered them into each other to form his big crazy tail.  I also added a little tracing into my sentiment so I would stand out better, as well as some old Dresden Foil sunflowers.

More about my weekend...
I loaded up my car last Wednesday morning with about 95% of all the Christmas crafting goodies I have, and drove five hours to Milford, Texas, to go to Our House In Milford...a retreat center that my friend Carolyn twisted my arm about. So glad she did, because not only was it super fun, but I got a lot accomplished.  It's an awesome place to stay, and not to mention eat!!! I think I gained 10 pounds!
I had two big tables for all my loot, but I took a lot of floor space too. Yikes! There is ample space for everyone, and I think it holds over 30 crafters!
Here's Carolyn...who also made gorgeous goodies at the retreat, and a bunch of them. She really inspires me!
AND...here is a teaser for you about the next four blog posts coming up. I made all of these at the retreat, and I can't wait to show them to you! Soon.
