Hello All! Can you believe it's already December?!! Ugh, I feel so far behind this year for some reason, but at least I have a few Christmas cards made already. Here are two of the same cards using the new Wendy Vecchi Warm Wishes Stamp, Stencil, and Die Set from Ranger. There are sooooo many ways to use this set with all it comes with. It was hard to decide, but I combined a few parts of the set with an oldie but a goodie, the Brickwork Stencil for Art from Wendy and Stamper's Anonymous. Enjoy!
(Note:
I made two cards but will explain steps for making one card.) Cut a piece of
White Perfect Cardstock to 3.75 x 4.75 inches. Add Washi Tape to the bottom
edge (horizontal). Lay this on the Stay-tion, and lay Basically Bricks Stencil
over the area without Washi tape. Secure stencil with magnets. In an empty
embossing jar, mix up Tree Branch, Watering Can, and Frosted Crystal Embossing
Powders in equal amounts to make your own stone brick look. Shake jar well to
mix powders. Ink over the brick stencil heavily with Watering Can Archival Ink
with an ink blending tool, and then pour powder mix over. Heat to emboss.
Ink
over the bricks lightly with Tree Branch Archival using an ink blending tool.
Ink edges of this with Watering Can Archival. Mount on black cardstock leaving
a thin border of black, using two sided tape. Mount this onto Christmas Paper,
leaving a thicker border, about 1/4 inch. Finally mount onto the Perfect
Cardstock Landscape base. Stamp the sentiment to the lower right corner onto
the tape using Jet Black. Set aside.
Die
cut the candle holder lanterns outline using Gold Metallic Kraft Stock, and
again with the snowflake acetate sheet. Stamp the candle lanterns stamp on both
of these using Jet Black Archival and using the stamp platform as both of these
are slick surfaces so the platform will hold things steady. Let the ink dry a
few minutes before handling. Stamp the candle lanterns again onto White Perfect
Cardstock using Jet Black, and hand cut both candles with flames out. Ink over
the candles lightly with Tree Branch, including the flame, and then ink in the
inner part of the flame dark with tree Branch using a Detail Blending Tool.
Trim the candle holder tops and bottom off of the Gold Kraft Stock, and adhere
to the top of the acetate using Glossy Accents. Add Glossy Accents over the
candles and then adhere them underneath the acetate matching up the stamped
candles on top. Add foam tape to the back of the candle lanterns where is won't
be seen. Set aside for now.
Using
more White Perfect Cardstock, die cut the swag and bow. Ink over the bow in
Carnation Red Blendable Dye Ink, and over the swag in Prickly Pear Blendable
Dye Ink. Stamp over the bow with the coordinating stamp using Jet Black. Use
the Detail Blending Tool to ink in areas of the bow using Red Geranium
Blendable Dye Ink. Lay the swag onto the Stay-tion and lay the coordinating
stencil over this. Use the magnets to hold in place. Ink over the swag stencil
using Peat Moss Blendable Dye Ink very heavily. Ink edges in Peat Moss as well.
Use a dark green pen to draw in leaf line centers. Adhere this to the center
top of the bricks using foam tape, and the bow in the center of the swag using
Perfect Adhesive.
Back
to the candle holder lanterns, add dots of Jingle Bell Liquid Pearls across the
tops of the lanterns and on the bottom of the right lantern. Add dots of
Twinkle Stickles to the centers of the snowflake sparkles on the acetate. Add
dots of Carnation Red Enamel Accents to the swag and the dots of the Washi
Tape. Let dry.
Die cut two of the large
pine branch pieces, two poinsettias, and one pinecone out of White Perfect
Cardstock for one card. Leave the die cut pieces inside the cut border for
easier stamping. Stamp the coordinating images onto the die cuts using Jet
Black. Stamp two pine needles pieces on white cardstock, and cut these out.
Using ink blending tools, ink over the poinsettias in Carnation Red Dye Ink,
all of the piece pieces in Prickly Pear Dye Ink, and the pinecone in Tree
Branch Archival.
Color
in the details of these die cut pieces using permanent markers. I used Pitt
Pens. Due to limited room on the card, trim the borders off of each die cut
piece so things fit a little better. Ink the edge of each in coordinating inks.
To layer the pieces onto the card, start with one pine needle piece. Adhere it
to the middle of the card above the tape using Perfect Adhesive. Adhere a pine
branch piece to each side of the card right above the tape allowing them to
hang over using Perfect Adhesive. Add dots of Carnation Red Enamel Accents to
all the pine pieces and let dry a few minutes. Adhere the candle lanterns to
the center of the card. The pine needle piece should be seen through the
acetate. Add foam tape to the poinsettias and adhere each of them on either
side of the lanterns allowing some petals to go behind the lantern. Add foam
tape to the remaining pine needle piece and add to the left side of the
lanterns. Add foam tape to the pinecone and add it on top of the pine needle
piece. Add Tidings Stickles to the centers of the poinsettias, and Enamel
Accents to the pine piece. Let dry.
