Faux Leather Video Tutorial

It's my turn to host the Saturday StepXStep at Frilly & Funkie, and I decided to do another video tutorial showing my very favorite technique that I learned at Ranger U from Tim...Perfect Pearls Faux Leather. This time I turned off the phone!!!

The Completed Tags:
Leather, Prima Flowers and some Idea-ology pieces were added to the kraft tag.
Here is the original tag left blank.
Metal accents, Prima Flowers, a Grunge rose, and some Idea-ology pieces were added to the black tag. I am submitting this tag to The Blogger's Challenge for "Christmas In July", and to Compendium of Curiosities II Challenge of "Enameled Metals" based on  Tim's book by the same name.
Supplies: From My Stash: Robert Stanley Metal Ribbon, pewter manger charm, star charms, leather strap
I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!

  5. Thank you for the video! Dyan Reaveley showed us a really quick demo of this technique when she was here in TX. I bought the Perfect Refresher and then couldn't remember anything beyond spraying it on cardstock or a tag. She used a piece of Tim's Kraft Resist paper...made it feel like suede.

Thank you so much for showing the technique from start to finish!!!

  9. Hi Anita,
Thanks so much for the great tutorial - really clear, and easy to follow. And the tags are wonderful! It's a great technique, but it's how you choose to embellish that really makes them - the black/pewter/pearl one has become a thing of beauty with those adornments!

  11. your tags are beautiful and you did a wonderful job with the tutorial.
However...Julia Andrus who was affiliated with Ranger published this in her book Paper Transformed, in 2007. Not Tim's idea.

    2. Hi Monica and thank you!!! I assume...lol...that yes, this will work on any medium to lightweight plain cardstock that is not coated with anything, but don't hold me to that. I have not tested it on any other types but these. That would be a great thing for you to do once you get some, which I hope is soon. I don't want your days to be ruined! LOL!!! Happy crafting!
