When I first read the challenge instructions, and saw that we were to use 10, I knew instantly that I would use this card that I created for Artistic Outpost a few months ago, because I distinctly remembered counting 10 of these pencils as I was stamping them.  I haven't shown this card yet, so I thought this would be perfect. The photo is an original I picked up somewhere along the creative way. I wonder who she is.
Lucille Ball was hilarious! She was a comedic legend and a real class act. I Love Lucy was my favorite show as a child...they just don't make them like they used to. I love this quote from her, and AO nailed it by including it as well as so many other great quotes on their new release stamp set from March, Quotes & Quoteables. The other fabulously vintage images are on the other new release set from March as well,  Secretary Pool...appropriate name, and I just love the phone and typewriter image!
I adhered the G45 paper to a kraft card and cut one side a little longer to use as the flap.
I stamped the letter head image on the front of the card in Adirondack Earthtones Latte.
I stamped the phone in Jet Black Archival, and all the others in Adirondack Earthtones Pesto. I traced over the sentiment in Glaze Pens for added depth, as well as the pencil tops.
This is the back.

I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!

  1. Love the way you have combined stamping eclectic images with your decorative papers, and who'da thought pencils would make such a great border?!
This is an ideal way to start using up all those scraps and papers. Thanks for the inspiration. Hugs, Buttons x

  2. Beautiful piece, the stamping - I love the pencils - looks fab against that gorgeous paper.

  3. I have that Lucy quote on a CTMH stamp! Love your card. So clever with the flap at the top.

  4. Great quote and how cool to use the '10' that way... great mind!

  5. There's so much to savor on this card Anita, I don't know where to begin. I love the vintage images and photo, the base paper is stunning and I love the way you brought everything together. This is an amazing card and I'd definitely say you are an artist!

  6. Love your card! And I like that quote too! That old picture looks amazing on the card and I love the way you've used the 10 pencils!

  7. Hi Anita. Absolutely fab creation and I love the way you integrated the 10 in this piece. I was just saying to another crafty friend, who mentioned the Hill Billies, how I loved Lucille Ball and Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyer Moore, also Greenacres. This is a wonderful piece with so much to view. Thanks for sharing this inspiring creation x

  8. Fabulous creations, great details.

  9. Hi, Anita! Once again I come to you in a good mood! And again I saw a wonderful job! I'm delighted! Thank you!

  10. Hi, Anita, this is another gorgeous creation. I just love it!... :)

  11. Anita, you have hit another home run on this card! I just love your style and your sense of composition. I think your elements really do pull this card together! I love how you added 10 pencils with the note at the top: jot this down. I think the telephone helps add a vintage feel, too. And that photo is the icing on the preverbal cake! LOVE it! The pattern paper is gorgeous without distracting. Very beautiful creation! and TFS. I know folks will be inspired by this beauty!
    hugs, sharon w.

  12. This is fantastic Anita ... I love those pencils with matching sentiment, the vintage image, telephone and theming is fabulous!!!

  13. The pencils are such a smart way to meet the challenge! I love that you stamped them on text paper, great effect. The sentiment is one of my favorites, especially since I just turned 40! Another amazing job Anita!
