The Compendium of Curiosities II Challenge this week is Tim's "Tissue Wrap Flowers". This challenge is also being sponsored by the wonderful Funkie Junkie Boutique.
I wanted to make a real feminine tag so I started off using Tim's floral paper as my tag base, but I tweaked it some as shown below. When it came time for my flowers, I wanted a broader petal shape, so mine aren't as fluffy as most, and not as pretty. I should have just stuck with the book...live and learn.
My pictures came out completely horrible, because I took these at night, so the color is not even showing up the way I want it to.
When the Gesso completely dried, I brushed on Distress Crackle in Rock Candy, and let it dry completely. |

I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!

ReplyDeleteCool background technique. Great idea to tone down paper and I like how you achieved a whole new texture with the gesso swirls. Then to add back in some colour with stains...wow. Now I know what to do with all that paper I couldn't think how to use! Your flowers are awesome. Great tag.
ReplyDeleteI love the soft brighness of this tag. The colors are perfect and your flowers add the finishing touch.
