Hello Everyone! I'm taking a tiny intermission from Halloween and bringing you some Christmas. Did you happen to catch that Tim Holtz Sizzix Live yesterday?!! WOW! My head is still brimming with inspiration from all the makers...just crazy fabulous! I am also so happy to finally have a Christmas make up. Here is the first of my Sizzix Christmas makes using the new Vault Series, which are smaller renditions of oldies but goodies, which I love revisiting especially in the new size. This card was so easy to throw together as well. Enjoy!!!
Cut and fold a Kraft
Cardstock base card to 5 x 6.5 inches, and ink the edges of the card with
Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and an Ink Blending Tool. Cut an Ivory Heavystock
mat to 4.75 x 6.25 inches and adhere it to the card front with two sided tape.
Cut a piece of champagne/platinum colored Metallic Kraft Stock to 2.5 x 4 1/8
inches for the upper right of the card, and one 2 1/8 x 4 1/8 inches for the
lower left side of the card. Cut Kraft cardstock to 1 7/8 x 2 1/8 for the upper
left, and one 2 x 2.5 inches for the lower right. Lay these on the card front
just so you can see the layout of the card design. Die cut one gent, 2 wreaths,
1 little bows, and one lady from Kraft Cardstock. Die cut one lamp stand, 2
little bows, both faceted stars, 'Christmas', and one large bow from the
champagne Metallic Kraft Stock. Fold the stars so they are ready, and affix the
large bow together using Collage Medium. Add 'merry' from the Seasonal Chit
Chat Stickers to Ivory Heavystock, cut around it, and adhere to the same
Metallic Kraft Stock, and cut around it for the sentiment. Lay all the die
pieces where they will go as shown so you know the layout of the card.
Remove all the pieces
from the card front and lay them somewhere safe and positioned like they were
on the card front to make it a little easier and help you find things. Take the
two Metallic panel pieces and working one at a time, mist lightly with water
and lay inside the Arched Texture Fade. Run through your machine three times
for nice deep embossing. Do the other panel. Ink the edges of both pieces with
Vintage Photo Archival and then run the pad over the top of each piece to
further bring out the raised edges. Using Archival on the Metallic pieces
ensures the ink not coming off. Add two sided tape to the back of these and
secure on the card front where they go.
Take the two Kraft pieces
and lightly stamp part of the Advert background over them in Gathred Twigs
Distress Ink. Ink the edges of those and secure them on the card front where
they go using two sided tape. Take the gent and lady, and stamp over them using
the Music background stamp and use Vintage Photo Archival this time to make the
image darker. Ink the edges of both of these people in Vintage Photo as well
and adhere them to the card front using Collage Medium. Stamp over both wreaths
using the Advert background picking out a good part of the design to see on the
wreaths and using Vintage Photo. Ink the edges of those, and set those aside
for a bit. Ink the edges of the faceted stars and large bow with Vintage Photo
as well.
Ink the edges of the
light post and two tiny bow with Vintage Photo, and then adhere the light post
next to the lady with Collage Medium. Adhere the wreaths (one on the gent and
one on the lamp post) with Collage Medium, and then the bows on the wreaths.
Ink the edges of the little Kraft tiny bow and cut it in half. Adhere it to the
back of the lady's dress with Collage Medium. Adhere the 'merry' to the top
right side of the Kraft panel in the lower right. Then adhere the 'Christmas'
below that and over to the left some with Collage Medium. Use a paper towel to
make sure there is no Collage Medium showing on any of the Metallic pieces to look
cleaner. Finally use Collage Medium to adhere the large bow below the
sentiment, and the two faceted stars to the upper left on the Kraft. You will
probably need to hold the stars down until they are secure, or use hot glue to
make this some easier.
Taking a medium and
three small Mirrored Stars, drop Silver Mixative over them to cover completely
and then drop a little Mushroom Alcohol Ink over that and let them dry. Adhere
the medium star to the grouping of faceted stars, and the tiny ones on the chest
of each person, and one for the dot of the 'i' in the word. Use Platinum
Stickles on the word, the bows, the wreaths, the scarf, the hats, and anything
else you want bling on. Let dry.
