Hi everyone! Today, I've got more Halloween. This time two cards made with the new Bold Frights and Halloween Doodles Stamp Sets from Tim Holtz and Stamper's Anonymous. The Doodles are a fav set of mine...so darn cute. Enjoy!
Cut Kraft Cardstock base
to 4 x 5.5 inches when folded (times 2 if making two cards). Cut black
cardstock mat to 3 7/8 x 5 3/8 and adhere to Kraft base with two sided tape.
Ink the edges of the Kraft base with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Set aside.
Cut White Heavystock to 3.5 x 5.25 inches for card front. Gather stamp sets and
Moon Masks and plan out cards.
Working one card front
at a time, place solid Moon Mask in upper left corner. Ink over this and the
rest of the paper with Prize Ribbon, Wilted Violet, and Carved Pumpkin Distress
Inks with Ink Blending Tools. Keep blending and adding inks until nice deep sky
is created. Repeat on other card.
Keep Moon Mask in
place and lightly mist Jack-O-Lantern Distress Mica Stain over sky area. Add a
drop of Picket Fence Distress Paint to silicon mat and spray a tiny bit of
water into the paint and mix. Pick up the watered down paint with a small paint
brush and flick over the sky area for some stars. Do the same to the other card
front. Clean off Moon Mask. Let these dry a few minutes.
Place open coordinating
Moon Mask over the solid Moon area, and lightly ink in with Hickory Smoke
Distress Ink. Remove mask and use a clean paper towel and smudge over the ink.
Protect the sky area with paper towel and lightly mist Empty Tomb Distress Mica
Stain over Moon area. Repeat on other card. Ink the edges of the card fronts
with Hickory Smoke, and then dry thoroughly with a heat tool.
Place card front in a
Stamp Platform and add the sentiment from Bold Frights in lower right corner.
Close the lid to secure the stamp. Rub an anti static pouch over the card front
so the colored powder doesn't stick where you don't want it. Ink the stamp with
Distress Embossing Ink, and stamp the sentiment a few times until you see a
nice wet image. Immediately pour White Embossing Powder over the image, pour
off, then heat emboss. Repeat with the other card front using another
sentiment.
Place clean White
Heavystock in the platform and stamp the images from Halloween Doodles in Black
Soot Archival...one skeleton, 3 bones, both pieces of candy, one potion bottle,
and three candles. Remove, then stamp the ghost in Black Soot Archival onto
white vellum. Cut out all of these pieces.
Color in all the
images except the ghost and skeleton using Distress Crayons and a Detail Water
Brush, and using the silicon mat as your palette. I used Antique Linen on the
candles, skeleton, and bones, Carved Pumpkin on the candy and bottle, and
Gathered Twigs and pretty much everything. Adhere the skeleton and ghost to the
card fronts on the left, using Clear Foam Tape on the ghost and regular on the
skeleton. Cut a 1/4 inch wide x 3 inches or so or Kraft Cardstock, ink the
edges heavily with Gathered Twigs and adhere above the sentiment to look like a
shelf. Adhere the bones to the shelf on the skeleton card and the bottle and
candles to the ghost card shelf.
