Hello All! Welcome to a Christmas post. I think I am going to do Christmas posts on Sundays for awhile so you can expect to see a festive make each week for a bit. These cards are made with the new Tim Holtz Sizzix dies, Holiday Brushstoke 2 and a few from the Christmas Vault Series. While die cutting I interchanged the colors of Metallic Kraftstock to make each one, so one is more gold and the other copper. Hope you can see that. Enjoy!
For two cards, mist a
half sheet of White Heavystock lightly with water, then mist over Prize Ribbon
Distress Spray Stain and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Spray. While wet mist over
Crooked Broomstick Distress Mica Spray. Dry with a heat tool and blot off any
excess. Rub Distress Micro Glaze over the top to bring out all the colors and
marbling a little better, and wipe off with a paper towel. Use a paper trimmer
to trim into two 4.25 x 5.75 inches. Have Kraft cardstock bases ready to go at
5 x 6.5 inches when folded.
Die cut all the pieces
from the Holiday Brushstroke 2 Thinlits twice using two shades of silver, two
shades of copper, two shades of gold, and two shades of blue all from the
Metallic Kraft Stock, Metallic 2 Kraftstock, Metallic Confections Kraftstock,
Metallic Jewels Kraftstock. Alternate the colors of coordinating Kraftstock to
assemble the pieces with Collage Medium. Die cut the 'Christmas' using the gold
and copper as well as the large bows using the two shades of silver from the
Christmas Vault Series Thinlits. Lay the pieces out on the card front so you
know where things will go.
Using the 'Merry'
Thinlit from Retro Merry Christmas, die cut the word in the lower right corner
of the card front about 1 inch up and 1/2 inch over from the right. Save the
inside letters for another project. Do the other card. Ink the edges of both
card fronts with Prize Ribbon Distress Ink, and then mount each on either of
the blue Kraftstock Metallic using two sided tape. Then mount those on either
gold or copper Kraftstock.
Mount the card front
on the Kraft card bases and ink the edges of the card bases with Gathered Twigs
Distress Ink. Adhere the 'Christmas' below the 'Merry' with Collage Medium.
Assemble the die cuts and adhere to the top left portion of the card front
using Collage Medium and foam tape for the pine cone. Add the bow with Collage
Medium.
