Wendy Vecchi Autumn Greetings Thanksgiving Slimline Cards

Hi everyone, and happy Wednesday! We are getting closer to Thanksgiving in the U.S.A., and that means I've got to get cracking on cards. Today, I've got some using the new stamps, stencils, and dies from Wendy Vecchi and Ranger called Autumn Greetings. This set is so great as there are so many items to choose from for endless techniques and endless card designs. I decided to make four of the same this time. I wish the pictures did these justice, as they are so much better in person. Regardless, enjoy! 

  For four cards cut a sheet of 8.5 x 11 inch Specialty Stamping Paper in half (to make technique easier). Apply Potting Soil and Garden Patina Archival Ink directly from the pad onto a glass mat. Spray liberally with rubbing alcohol, and swipe SSP into the wet ink. Repeat with other sheet of SSP, and until you like the look. Clean mat and apply Tiger Lily and Orange Marmalade to glass mat, spray with alcohol, and add SSP. Tap the paper into the wet inks as well to create splotches. Repeat with the other colors until you like the look of both papers. Set aside to dry thoroughly.

 

Using another sheet of SSP, cut into four equal pieces. Repeat the above technique with three of the papers using only one ink per paper, Garden Patina, Tiger Lily and Orange Marmalade, and Potting Soil. Using a water brush filled with alcohol, apply inks that are same color as the papers to the glass mat and pick up with water brush. Tap brush over papers and create dots of color. Do this for each of the three pieces. Let dry.

 Taking the blank fourth piece of SSP, apply Potting Soil Archival to the paper directly from the pad until the paper is completely covered. Apply Garden Patina and Tiger Lily to mat, and pick up with the alcohol water brush and tap to add dots of both colors of ink over the paper.

Spray Antique Linen Distress Spray Stain over all four pieces of SSP to create blotches of color. Use a paper towel to absorb stain that you don't want. Let dry completely.

 

 Cut kraft card base pieces to 3 x 8 inches. Cut Gold Metallic Kraft Stock to 2 7/8 x 7 5/8 inches. Ink edges of gold with Potting Soil Blendable Dye Ink and an ink blending tool, and adhere to kraft card with two sided tape. Ink edges of kraft card. Cut the two pieces of SSP in half, and then cut all four to 2 5/8 x 7 5/8 inches. Set card bases aside.

 

 

 Taking the four long pieces of SSP you just cut, stamp the larger oak leaf (on a stamping block) from Autumn Greetings set randomly over the pieces using Orange Marmalade. Do the same with the smaller oak leaf using Garden Patina. Stamp the sentiments randomly over the papers using Potting Soil. Let these dry, as Archival Ink stamping stays wet longer on SSP than most papers.

 Taking the orange, blue, and whitish SSP pieces, die cut four pumpkins from each, as well as four small and four large leaves. Taking the brown SSP piece, die cut four of each, acorns, wheat sprigs, large leaves, and small leaves.

 

Stamp the corresponding images to the die cut pieces in coordinating Archival Ink and heat emboss using Gold Embossing Powder.

 

Color in pumpkin stem, acorn top, and wheat sprig using brown permanent marker. Arrange die cut pieces on the SSP card front and arrange them as they will go when adhered. Carefully remove the pieces and set aside, as you stamp pumpkin swirls above each pumpkin using Pot Soil Archival. (Please ignore the sentiment stamping here as I changed my mind on how I wanted to do this.) Ink edges in Potting Soil, and adhere this to card base. Adhere die cut to front of card using either foam tape, two sided tape, or Perfect Medium. 

 

 

As mentioned above, I changed my mind for the sentiment to this. Stamp 'Grateful' sentiment onto Gold Metallic Kraftstock using Potting Soil Archival and heat emboss with gold powder. Cut out in rectangle shape, ink edges, and adhere to card front above die cuts using foam tape.
