The technique at Linda's Compendium of Curiosities II Challenge is from Tim's book by the same name, page 59, for "Alcohol Ink Resist". I love this technique and have used it several times, but this time it's for Autumn leaves.
Supplies:From My Stash- metal ribbon from Hobby Lobby, Vintaj Leaves (discontinued)
I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!
...super gorgeous tag Anita, the effect of the alcohol inks is so amazing and your colours are so rich...stunning work indeedy...Mel :)
ReplyDeleteNow this is a piece to adore:) Your colour combo is superb and I love the little details like cutting into the metal ribbon (gorgeous stuff) to expose the lower leaves. Another masterpiece Anita. Hugs, Buttons x
ReplyDeleteAnita, this is sooo beautiful. It looks as though if you you could reach out and touch it, that it would be all rough and textured, it truly is an amazing technique. Your colours are fabulous and love that Dyan stamp, it really stands out - simply gorgeous. Crafty hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous Anita. Love these colours.

Beautiful, I really love the way the leaves "pop"... The colors you chose are amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteYou must have been to my part of Canada lately...you have captured the autumn leaves perfectly. The effect of the alcohol inks on this tag is stunning. The white leaves and the charm are wonderful details. Love the trim at the bottom and how you cut it to reflect the shape of the leaves it ovelapped. Cool!
ReplyDeleteWowww Anita...what a great background...the colours are amazing! Great job :-)
ReplyDeletegreetings, Alie :-)
Gorgeous! Love that rich AI background and then the contrast of the DR silhouette leaves... fab choice!
ReplyDeleteOh Goodness....that IS truly beautiful!!!!! I love all the awesome detail on this piece!!!! Awesome Awesome job ma'am!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The colors are just so very fall like.
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty, and I'll bet it's one of those that no photo can do it justice. I love how the inked background gives such visual texture even though it's actually smooth. Great job!
ReplyDeletePretty! I love fall, don't you? Your tag really captures it! I really like what you did at the bottom and how the leaves hang over your embellishment - nice touch!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! I had decided not to try this one, as I couldn't make sense of the book directions on first glance. But now I'm motivated to look at it again today and maybe make the deadline. This is breathtaking and reminds me of the view I have from my bedroom window, enjoying with my coffee this morning! I love fall!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike...as you will see as soon as I post my tag later today. If I'd posted mine first I'd accuse you of copying! lol Love this technique and it's the first time the results have been this good. Will do the technique again...already have an idea for winter.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! I've been trying to get to this all week. Hopefully I can squeeze some craft time in today.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tag Anita! I love how you cut the leaves at the bottom to hang over your embellishment!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work, as usual, Anita! The blending of the alcohol ink colors is superb!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what these techniques are about as I've not broken down and bought Tim's books (I know, shame on me!) but if that's what it's supposed to look like, then AWESOME job Anita. Not sure how you did it, but the Autumn texture of the resist inks looks just like the outside of a hedgeapple...SO cool!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work. :)
This is just GORGEOUS! Love the colors and the effect of the background. All those little embellies are really beautiful! To me this is the most wonderful time of the year. The colors are really inspiring :)
