Until You Spread Your Wings...

Remember the remnant page from the Live Your Dream butterfly resist batik? It was so cool and unique. I couldn't bear to throw it away, so I decided to use it in my Art Journal. I didn't care that it had scribble on it from my youngest son...it just means more to me that way. I've not shown any pages in my journal as of yet. They are personal, and filled with my crazy thoughts and doodles...very diary like. But, I said I'd show you, so here it is...no great work of art, and very dark and messy, but definitely my mood at the time and so therapeutic. Give Art Journaling a try if you are hesitant. I know you will love it...it's such a creative outlet!
The remnant.
I cut it in half and tore the edges, then adhered it to my already splattered Color Washed pages.

I am submitting this to the Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog challenge of "Splatters & Speckles", and Unruly Paper Arts Reader Art Quest 2 challenge of "Glue Book Page". Why not?!?

I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!

  6. Thanks for sharing something so personal. Really great colors and I like the way you journaled around the edges. ( Makes it harder for people like me to read);-) I'm looking forward to seeing more of your notebook work.

  7. You did make me smile Anita, ALL my pages come out dark and messy but I would not describe yours in that way, the colours are wonderful and I really love the stencilling and the journalling! Great job.......A x

  9. Thank you for allowing us this glimpse into your private journalling world... there's a page I made which felt quite close to the bone which I can't quite decide whether to share or not - glad to hear that we're allowed to keep some things private!! So interesting that this felt dark and messy to you, for to me I get a message lifting into colour and hope too!

  11. Woah! So glad you kept your initial 'rejects' and used them this way. The use of white and black for the journalling makes the colour sing. You are one talented lady. Huge hugs, Buttons x

  13. Anita, these pages are wonderful. They are so rich in layers, colours, detail and your thoughts. Great way to use those "rejects" which look fabulous here. Love the doodling you did and the use of white pen. Art journalling is such an amazing way to clarify thoughts and to just be messy and play.

  17. Great journal pages! It is brave to share, I have just started journaling and it takes a mental push to post these! But I consider that part of the therapy of the art LOL
