You Are The Cat's Meow!

There is a happy, wee, little, old man my hubby and I just adore who plays cards with hubby. He has the best head of snow white hair you've ever seen, and so much of it that he is the envy of most men, balding or not. He served in WWII as a pilot among several other things, and he just recently celebrated his 90th birthday. I had to make him a very special card, and I had one I had completed with Artistic Outpost last month that was just perfect with one more added thing....a 90!
Some how my propeller fell off the plane before I shot this picture and I didn't realize until later when the card had already been given.
I sanded the blue cardstock and tore and inked the edges in Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. The propeller images were stamped in Cotton White StazOn on the blue background. All of the images except the propellers, were stamped in Pumice Stone Distress Ink, colored in with watercolor pencils, and heat embossed in clear distress powder. The propellers were stamped in Jet Black Archival onto the light tan cardstock then cut out. The sentiment was stamped in black StazOn onto transparency, and then cut out and placed on the banner. I punched holes in the banner and ran string from it to the plane. Stars and propellers were added throughout.
Here was the finished card before I added the 90.
I am submitting this card to Hels Sheridan's Sunday Stamper challenge of "numbers". She has blog candy up for grabs, so give her a visit.

Supplies:
From My Stash: propellers, star charms, black string, light tan cardstock

I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!
