Tim Holtz Sizzix Chapter 3 2021 - Varsity and 3D Mini Botanical with Rectangles Stacked Tiles Metallic Congrats Wedding Card

WOW! Talk about a mouth full of a title, but at least you know what you are about to see! Hello All and welcome to my first make using the new Tim Holtz Sizzix Chapter 3 Dies. Wasn't the LIVE yesterday fabulous?!! I'm in such awe at all the makes! Thanks to all the Designers for bringing us so much inspiration with Tim's LIVEs. Well since wedding season is upon us, I thought I'd start with this card which is made with the new Varsity Thinlits, Rectangles Stacked Tiles Framelits, and Mini 3D Botanical Texture Fade. You know how I love the Stacked Tiles series, and these Rectangles can do so much, like mat and stack and mat and stack again. I LOVE that, and with all the pieces it's so easy to do! That is what I did on this card, and even used the Rectangles to make the tux and dress!  Enjoy!

Using the silver and gold Metallic Kraft Stock and Alphanumeric Varsity, die cut the letter 'CONGRATS' from both colors. Separate the letters from the borders and mix them so you have a gold letter with silver trim and vise versa. Alternate the letters with gold base then silver repeating the pattern. Since you are using two different colors of paper you will have two completed words but you only need one for this card so save the other for another project.

For the rectangles that will house the 'C', die cut a blue Confections Kraft Stock rectangle using the largest size, a kraft, white Heavystock, and black cardstock rectangle using the next to largest Rectangle in the Stacked Tiles. Use a paper trimmer to cut a gold Metallic Kraft Stock piece for the matting of the blue confections piece leaving a border about 1/16 inch around. Take the black cardstock rectangle and cut a slit at the middle top about 3/4 inch down. Fold each slit over making a triangle shape for the jacket collar. Cut a slit on the white cardstock about 1/4 inch down at the top middle, and fold those over to create a triangle shaped collar for the shirt. Using a scrap piece of blue confections free hand cut a bow tie that will fit nicely on the white shirt part.

Ink the edges of the kraft rectangle with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Mount the blue confections rectangle to the center of the gold metallic using two sided tape. Mount the white shirt to the kraft, and the black jacket to the white shirt, and then mount that onto the blue confections piece. Use Collage Medium to adhere the bow tie in place as well as the 'C' in the middle of the jacket. Set the 'C' rectangle aside on a kraft card base cut to 5 x 6.5 inches where it will go so you now have an idea of the layout of the rectangles.

For the rectangles that will house the 'S', die cut a blue Confections Kraft Stock rectangle using the largest size, a kraft cardstock and  white Heavystock rectangle using the next to largest Rectangle in the Stacked Tiles. Use a paper trimmer to cut a gold Metallic Kraft Stock piece for the matting of the blue confections piece leaving a border about 1/16 inch around, as well as a black cardstock piece that will be matted behind the kraft leaving about 1/16 inch border. Take the white Heavystock rectangle and lightly mist it with water and run it through the 3D Mini Botanical Texture Fade. Remove from the fade, and trim a triangle V shaped piece from the top middle using scissors for the next line. Trim off each side edge at an angle at the bottom for a waistline look. Using a scrap piece of blue confections free hand cut a sash for the waist about 1/4 inch thick that will fit nicely on the bottom waist part. Adhere the sash with Collage Medium.

Lightly ink the edges of the dress as well as the kraft rectangle using Gathered Twigs, and mount the dress onto the kraft using two sided tape. Mount this onto the black cardstock, and this onto the blue confections and finally onto the gold piece. Use Collage Medium to adhere the 'S' onto the middle of the dress. Set aside on the card base where it will go.

For the 'O' and 'T' use the three smallest rectangles in the Stacked Tiles. Adhere about 5 1/2 inches of the blue flowered Linen Tape to a piece of cardstock, and die cut two of the smallest rectangles from it. Ink the eddges of the Linen rectangles with Gathered Twigs. Die cut two black cardstock from the next to smallest, and two blue confections from the middle sized rectangles. Using two sided tape mount the Linen rectangles onto the black cardstock and those onto the blue confections. Use Collage Medium to adhere the 'O' and 'T' to the center of the Linen piece, and set those on the card front where they go. Do the exact same for the 'G' and 'R' using the same materials, except die cut the Linen from the second smallest rectangle, the black cardstock from the middle rectangle, and the blue confections from the second largest. Adhere those like the other two and set on the card front where they go.
For the 'N' and 'A' use the next to largest rectangles and cut two black and two kraft cardstock pieces. Die cut two blue confections from the middle rectangle Stacked Tiles. Take the blue pieces and lightly mist with water and run through the 3D Mini Botanical Texture Fade.

Mount the blue embossed pieces to the kraft rectangles. Use scissors to cut off the borders of the kraft so they are barely seen (1/16 inch border) and ink the edges of those with Gathered Twigs. Then mount onto the black cardstock rectangles with two sided tape. Mount these onto silver Metallic Kraft Stock cut just around the black leaving about 1/8 inch border. I did this to help make things pop a little more. Adhere the 'N' and 'A' in place with Collage Medium and set onto the card front where they go. Play with the arrangement using a ruler to help make sure you have even borders around the letters and in between. Once you have the arrangement stick the rectangles down using two sided tape. Ink the edges of the card with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.
