CC3C - Layering Stencil: Paint Resist

It's Saturday! So here's another challenge to get your crafty week going in the new Compendium of Curiosities III Challenge!!! Thanks for all the faux cracked glass entries last time...all very cool! Thank you for joining us, and for all the wonderful comments and such!  The Curiosity Crew and I am always floored by what we see!
This new challenge, number thirty-one (Three more to go!) is using the Layering Stencil, Paint Resist Technique. I know you all love the Layering Stencils, so this one should be a cinch for you to participate it!  Please play along so you can win some fabulous prizes donated by the ever generous Tim and Mario, and this challenge's sponsor, Inspiration Emporium!!! You will have two weeks to complete this challenge and link it up to the CC3Challenge site, and you can read all the rules here. Please take the time to visit every member of the Curiosity Crew (See below.) for not only some painty and stenciled goodness,  but for a chance to win some extra goodies!
I'm cheating here, as I made this tag for the Ranger Booth for CHA 2015, but I have waited to blog it all this time until now, as it was made using Tim's technique that we are using for this challenge.  Hope you like it!
I cut a #10 sized tag...my favorite size...out of Glossy Cardstock. Yes Glossy! You can do this technique on many surfaces! I followed Tim's instructions for the technique.
I added some Film Strip Ribbon to mimic the road, and stitched that down, and around the tag.
I die cut several old jalopy pieces...I like to have several to do lots of layers...and the sentiment as well out of more Glossy Cardstock.
I inked in the jalopy with Forrest Moss and Vintage Photo, and added water droplets. I did the same to the sentiment although not as grungy looking. I also added a few doodles on the jalopy.
I painted all the chrome pieces with Brushed Pewter Distress Paint. The headlights I left white, and only inked around. I also added Glossy Accents to them.
I inked in the tire areas with Jet Black Archival. I cut out all the gents from the Found Relatives card, and started layered everything on the tag.
This is a fun challenge with a plethora of ways to use this technique. I can't wait to see what you do!

Color Burst Goodness

Hello all! I'm off today to demo Ken Oliver's Color Burst Powders at the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington, Texas, for the week. I've made lots of samples for the show, but since a few of the samples use Wendy Vecchi goodies, and her challenge for the month of June at the Make Art Challenge is "Embossing", I thought I would show them to you. They are not much, and easy to do, but they would look great on tags, cards, or even in an art journal. And...speaking of Wendy, I've had the privilege to hang out with her all week and take some awesome classes from her. How lucky am I?!!
Color Burst Powders are remarkable! The pigments are so rich, and there are so many ways to use them!
I used paper coasters for these. They work a lot like watercolor paper, so they were perfect. I stamped Wendy's Coneflower in Potting Soil Archival and poured different colors of her Embossing Powder on. LOVE the look!
Once heat embossed, I readied my palette of Color Burst Powders with a little water. These work a lot like the watercolor pastey paints. I painted in the flower.
To protect the image some, I rubbed it with Tim's Distress Micro Glaze. It makes a barrier for what comes next.
I sprinkled on a few colors of the Color Burst. A little goes a very long way as they are super concentrated. Then I misted over the coaster with water. I used a paper towel to clean away the Micro Glaze, and then added some doodling.
I did the same for the Rose,...
the Zinnia...
and the Daisy.
If you happen to be able to go to the show, come look for me at the Millenium Marking booth. Thanks for looking!
