Color Burst Goodness

Hello all! I'm off today to demo Ken Oliver's Color Burst Powders at the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington, Texas, for the week. I've made lots of samples for the show, but since a few of the samples use Wendy Vecchi goodies, and her challenge for the month of June at the Make Art Challenge is "Embossing", I thought I would show them to you. They are not much, and easy to do, but they would look great on tags, cards, or even in an art journal. And...speaking of Wendy, I've had the privilege to hang out with her all week and take some awesome classes from her. How lucky am I?!!

Color Burst Powders are remarkable! The pigments are so rich, and there are so many ways to use them!

I used paper coasters for these. They work a lot like watercolor paper, so they were perfect. I stamped Wendy's Coneflower in Potting Soil Archival and poured different colors of her Embossing Powder on. LOVE the look!

Once heat embossed, I readied my palette of Color Burst Powders with a little water. These work a lot like the watercolor pastey paints. I painted in the flower.

To protect the image some, I rubbed it with Tim's Distress Micro Glaze. It makes a barrier for what comes next.

I sprinkled on a few colors of the Color Burst. A little goes a very long way as they are super concentrated. Then I misted over the coaster with water. I used a paper towel to clean away the Micro Glaze, and then added some doodling.

I did the same for the Rose,...

the Zinnia...

and the Daisy.

Artsy Lady Canvas at Bella Crafts

I'm back again for Bella Crafts Publishing, to show you a painting I've made using some awesome paints from Deco Art Media. I was so fortunate to have received several boxes of Deco Art goodness back in January, just to try it out. Can you believe that? WOW! Talk about a generous company, as I've seen many bloggers come away with boxes of goodies from them. Thank you Deco Art, and I LOVE your goods! 

Back to the painting...my daughter loves make-up and all who have iconically worn it. Recently, she found a picture of a painting of Marilyn Monroe, and left it on my work desk. That translates to, "Hey Mom, make this for me!". While I couldn't copy the work exactly, as it's someone either than me, I did the best I could at capturing the face, and although more like Madonna...;0)...I'm happy with the result, and more importantly she was very happy with it.
