CC3C - Smudge Stamping

Happy happy April Saturday!!!  Tis time for another challenge, number twenty-six...WOW, in the new Compendium of Curiosities III Challenge!!!  The Curiosity Crew and I absolutely were blown away at all the Frameworks projects last time!  You all are so inspiring!!!  Thank you for joining in, and of course for all of the comments, likes, and retweets!
Challenge number twenty-six is using the Smudge Stamping technique...a cool vintage looking technique in my opinion! I can't wait to see your makes using this!  I hope you can play along on this challenge so you can win some amazing fabulous prizes donated by the ever generous Tim and Mario, and this challenge's sponsor, The Funkie Junkie Boutique!!! Thank you sponsors for your generosity! You will have two weeks to complete this challenge and link it up to the CC3Challenge site, and you can carefully read all the rules here. Please take the time to visit every member of the Curiosity Crew (See below.) for not only some great stamping inspiration, but for a chance to win some extra goodies!
Recently, I snagged this binder album from Heart of Texas Studio, that happens to fit all my Tim Holtz Collection Layering Stencils perfectly, and it needed decorating, so I thought the Smudge Stamping technique would be perfect for it.
Here is the Tag Binder Album...nice thick chipboard.
I love this image from the oldie but goodie stamp set The Journey from Tim and Stamper's Anonymous. I stamped it twice with Jet Black onto a #8 Manila Tag from Ranger, and cut out the car with the men inside to use as layering pieces.
I inked both cover pieces with Aged Mahogany...my favorite...and stamped the alphabet from the Typography set with Jet Black.
I used Tim's technique on two #10 Manila Tags, and then stamped the sentiment in Jet Black and embossed it with Clear Powder.
I had to add stenciling because this is a stencil binder after all, so I used the Harlequin and Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Then I added on lots of Idea-ology metal pieces, but only on the front, as I want it to lay flat.

Here is the back...no metal pieces so it lays flat.

As always, I hope you join in all the fun. This is a super easy technique and one to use so much! Until next time.

Rusty Cracked Pistachio Butterfly Tag

Hi there everyone! I hope your Easter was lovely. Ours was wonderful spent with family and new friends. I remembered (After some prompting!) the other day, that I teased those of you a while back who follow my Face Book Page, with a tag I made using Ranger's Tim Holtz new January Distress color Cracked Pistachio, and I never showed you the finished tag! Sorry, but here it is now.

I misted the tag with both Tea Dye and Cracked Pistachio Distress Spray Stain. I LOVE this combination and use it a lot. After drying, I inked over the whole tag with Walnut Stain just to see if I liked it, and I did. It made the Cracked Pistachio a darker green tone that I liked. While still wet, I poured Rust Antiquities Embossing Powder over the whole thing, and used my finger to wipe away where I didn't want it. I used the heat tool to melt it, and LOVED how it was turning out. I sewed around the edges, adhered it to some black cardstock, then and stamped the numbers from the new Perspective Stamp Set from Tim and Stamper's Anonymous, using Glacier White Pigment Ink. Then, I misted a piece of Specialty Stamping Paper with Cracked Pistachio, dried it, and then stamped the butterfly in Jet Black Archival. I poured Clear Embossing Powder and a little of the Rust Antiquities on this as well. Once melted and cooled, I used a white gel pen to outline some of the spots on the butterfly. I also misted some Crinkle Ribbon with the Cracked Pistachio. Then I added some metal adornments to finish the tag off.

Again, sorry for not showing you the finished tag, and thanks for the couple of emails asking me about it. Please keep me on my toes...I need it! Hope you all have an awesome day!
