Tim Holtz Stamper's Anonymous Halloween 2023 - Tiny Frights Glow in the Dark Pillow Box Candy Holders

Hello again this week Everyone! Today, I have the Halloween Pillow Box Candy Holders seen in the Tim Holtz Stamper's Anonymous Halloween Live, made with the Tiny Frights Stamp Set along with the Mini Spellbound and large Peek-a-boo Layering Stencils. I would give these out to my special Trick-or-Treaters or use them for party favors. They also glow in the dark with the new Glow Distress Grit Paste, so they are super fun at night. Hope you enjoy!

To make embossing cleaner, make sure to pounce all papers with an anti-static pouch first. From the Tiny Frights set, and using Black Cardstock, stamp the bat, hat, and cat stamps using Glacier White Pigment Ink and then heat emboss with White Embossing Powder from Ranger. Make sure to leave space around the cat for the next part. Onto Watercolor Cardstock, stamp the jack-o-lantern, skull, owl, moon, ghost, and star using Black Soot Archival and heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder. Onto more Watercolor, stamp the candy corn, candy, and another candy corn in Glacier White and heat emboss with White Powder.

For the cat only, use the Mini Stars Layering Stencil an Embossing Pen color in a small circle with three dot circles that look like a paw print just slightly to the right below the head for the cat's hand, and then quickly pour white powder over and heat emboss. Then use the pen to draw two line for the arm, two lines for the sides of the body, and the outline of a wand above the hand, pour powder on and heat emboss. Add two sided tape to the back of all the papers, then cut out all of the embossed images leaving a tiny border around each. Set aside for now.

Take the Pillow Box w/Labels Bigz Die from Sizzix, and using Black Kraftstock, die cut five of the boxes. You will need one small label for later, so you can save all the other labels for something else.

Take two of the boxes and lay them in a spray box or on paper towels, one vertical and one horizontal. Shake up the Mulled Cider, Flickering Candle, Ominous Twilight, and Fortune Teller Distress Mica Stains until all mica is released from the bottom. Heavily spray each color in a striped diagonal pattern on both boxes alternating colors until all the paper is covered. Make sure to clean the nozzle of each so there is no clogging the next time you use these. When dry, lay the stamped images on each were they will go on the front panel, but don't stick down yet. Select the sentiments for each and see where they will go. Remove the images and put them in a safe place, and place one box in a stamp platform and secure the sentiment. Pounce the anti-static pouch over where it will be, and stamp the sentiment with Glacier White Pigment Ink and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder. Do the other the same. NOTE: On the opposite panel of the box (the back side) you will need to select a pair of Peek-a-Boo eyes from the Layering Stencil that will be stenciled in with the Glow Grit Paste, but I found out the hard way that the Mica will bleed through the Glow, so to alleviate this you need to stencil in the eyes with Glacier White Pigment Ink first to be a barrier between them. Using a Mini Detail Inking Tool and the Glacier White Pigment Ink, stencil in one pair of the eyes on the back panel of each box, and let this dry awhile. Remember the eyes will be upside down on the horizontal box so that when folded the eyes will be right side up. Set aside for now.

Take two more of the black Pillow Boxes, and lay them in the spray box or on towels, again one vertical and one horizontal, and shake up the Empty Tomb, Wicked Elixir, and Jack-O-Lantern Distress Mica Stains, and spray those heavily, horizontally alternating colors on each box. Let dry. Lay the stamped images on each were they will go on the front panel, but don't stick down yet. Using a Mini Detail Inking Tool and the Glacier White Pigment Ink, stencil in one pair of the eyes on the back panel of each box, and let this dry awhile. Remember the eyes will be upside down on the horizontal box so that when folded the eyes will be right side up. Take all four of the colored Pillow Boxes, and using the Glow Grit Paste and a palette knife, stencil in all the pairs of eyes, and set these aside to dry. Clean the stencil and knife.

Take all the candy images, the owl, jack-o-lantern, and skull, and color them in with Distress Watercolor Crayons and a Detail Water Brush (Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron). The owl's belly and shadowy spots on the skull are Antique Linen fyi. Then take coordinating Distress Mica Stain, shake them up, and pour a tiny bit out onto the white mat. Pick up with the brush and color over the other matching colors. Unraveled is on the Antique Linen. Now all the colors will shimmer.

Remove the backing on the stamped images and stick them on where they go. Take the Mini Stars Stencil and using the Glacier White Pigment Ink again as the barrier and the Mini Inking Tool, stencil in stars on the owl box and on the ghost box. Stencil in asterisk looking ones on the candy box and around the top of the wand to look like magic stars. You can also stencil in some circles around the wand like I did, but I didn't put an Glow on those. When dry, add the Glow Grit Paste over those, and let dry. Gently fold all the boxes along the fold lines, and then add two sided tape to the thin joining part, and adhere the panels together for each box. Fold the round parts in one side, fill with candy, and enjoy giving to your favorite Trick-or-Treaters. To recharge the Glowing parts just leave under a light and they will glow bright again.

On the last pillow box, I decided to change it up and just make it a mummy. With the box vertical, stencil in a pair of eyes with the Glow on the upper left side. Let dry. Fold all the parts first, and then adhere the panels together using two sided tape, and then secure the ends to close the box. Take Mummy Cloth (probably about a yard) and wrap around the box diagonal one way and then the opposite way, finishing around the eyes. Fold the parts over if they are covering the eyes. Secure the end with Collage Medium. Using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, ink the both edges of the strips of cloth so they look old. Brush Medium over both sides. Take about a foot long piece of cloth and wrap it around twice and tie just one to secure. Stamp the sentiment on one of the labels from the die using Glacier White Pigment Ink and heat emboss in White Powder. Punch a small hole in one end of the label. Distress the edges and ink them using the Gathered Twigs. Place the label through one of the tied strings and then tie again to make a knot. Trim off to short the strings. Ink the edges of the strings with Gathered Twigs.

Tim Holtz Stamper's Anonymous Halloween 2023 - Foreboding and Obscure Autumn Sketchy Leaves Alcohol Ink Lift Cards

Hi Everyone! The Tim Holtz Stamper's Anonymous Halloween Live is just about to finish up, and of course my mind is up in the clouds in awe of all the makes, as I'm sure yours is as well! It's so crazy to see so many different kinds of makes from five stamp sets! If you missed the original Live the replay will be up soon. Here is one of my makes from the show featuring the new Sketchy Leaves Stamp Set along with help from The Obscure and Foreboding Sets using Alcohol Inks from Ranger. These were a cinch to make and just enjoyable to do. Oh how I LOVE Autumn, and cannot wait for it to arrive. Enjoy!

Cut a piece of Yupo White Heavystock to 4.5 x 6.5", and another piece that is about 4 x 4". Gather Rust, Sunset Orange, Sunshine Yellow, Dijon, Lettuce, and Turquoise Alcohol Ink from Ranger, and apply a small dot of each onto the felt on an Alcohol Ink Applicator, then pounce the ink onto the paper until covered. You can blow on a few spots to create tiny circles, fyi. Do the smaller paper the same and then set that one aside for now.

Place the larger paper into the large stamp platform, and arrange one of the scrolls and the flowers from the Foreboding and The Obscure Stamp Sets onto the bottom of the paper so they will be framing the bottom. Close the lid to secure the stamps. Gather Alcohol Lift Ink, a paper towel,  and cut a piece of Ivory Heavystock to the same size 4.5 x 6.5 inches and have it ready. You need to work fairly quickly to do the lifting. Apply the Lift Ink to the two stamps generously. Close the platform and stamp the images onto the AI paper, and press firmly and for a few seconds. Open the platform and carefully remove the paper and place the Ivory Heavystock in exactly where the other paper was, and then close the platform and stamp to transfer the ink, pressing firmly and for a few seconds. Open platform and remove the paper. You can stamp another paper if you wish to get whatever is left over on the stamps. Place the paper towel in the platform and stamp a few times until all the ink is transferred to  the paper towel, then lightly clean the stamps with the paper towel, but leave the stamps in place on the platform. Take the paper towel and place it over the Alcohol Ink paper and lightly wipe away the ink on the stamped images, revealing the lifted images. Clean all the ink off. Place the AI paper back in the platform but TURN IT so that the lifted images will be at the top, and a clean bottom is ready for more. Repeat all the above steps to lift the ink and transferring it the Ivory. Finally clean and remove the stamps as you are finished with those.

Use sticky notes or scrap paper to cover all the lifted images as best you can on the AI paper. Place the Fractured Layering Stencil over the center and position it so that you can see as much of the stencil parts on the open areas of the paper. Take a clean Ink Blending Foam and add it the tool, dab it onto the Alcohol Lift Ink pad to pick up the ink, and then start dabbing it over the open stencil areas. You will see the ink lifting away. Once all areas are lifted, remove the stencil and sticky notes and use a paper towel to remove any ink. You should have a lifted fractured area in the center. Wash the stencil and the foam with warm water to remove all the ink and let dry for use another day, and have the stencil ready to use on the next part.

Take the Ivory paper now, and cover the images with the sticky note like before, add the stencil on. Use Gathered Twigs or another brown ink and stencil in the Fractured image over the center of the paper. Clean the stencil and now you are finished with it.

Take the 4 x 4" piece with the Alcohol Ink on it and place it into the platform. Select a leaf from the Sketchy Leaves set, and place it on the paper and close the platform to secure it. Cut a piece of Ivory Heavystock the same size about 4 x 4" and have it ready, as well as the Lift Ink again, and a paper towel. Stamp the leave with the Ink, then transfer to the other paper, and repeat the clean up like before. Add two sided to the back of both, and then use scissors to cut the leaves out leaving a small border around. Mount both of these to turquoise color Metallic Kraftstock, and then cut those out again leaving a border.

Cut and fold two Kraft card bases to 5 x 7". Ink the edges of the cards with the Gathered Twigs. Cut two turquoise Metallic pieces to 4.75 x 6.75" and mount to the cards. Stamp the sentiment from the Tiny Frights Stamp Set on the lower right corner of both papers using a dark brown Archival like Ground Espresso. Mount these the cards. Apply foam tape to the back of the leaves and then mount the corresponding one to the card fronts. Shake the Unraveled Distress Mica Stain, and then pour a tiny bit out onto the  white mat. Pick up with the Water Brush and color in some of the images on both cards, like on the scrolls and flowers, and even on the leaves.

Tim Holtz Sizzix Halloween 2023 - Cracked Sign and Artsy Leaves and Layered Dots Trees in the Colorize Graveyard Pop Up Halloween Card

Hi Everyone! I have a Halloween make that was on the Tim Holtz Sizzix Halloween Live last week for you today. This one was super fun to make, and was made with the Colorize Graveyard, Artsy Leaves, and Layered Dots Thinlits, plus the Cracked 3D Texture Fade. I haven't made a pop up card in a while, so I thought it was time to do something different and try this again. Hope you enjoy!

Cut and fold Kraft Cardstock base card to 5 x 6.25 inches with a horizontal fold so the card will open outwards, with a 1/4 inch center so there is plenty of room for all the inside parts, and also with a Deckle Cut edge at the front bottom. A lot I know, but starting here making the planning a lot easier. Take a piece of Gray Two Tone Woodgrain Cardstock from Ranger, and the Alpha set from the Wood Slice Thinlits and arrange the sentiment...Enter if you dare, would be great too. Die cut until you've finished the sentiment. Save the positive letters for another project.

On the sides of the woodgrain, use a Deckle Trimmer to cut the sides at an angle, pointing inward. Use scissors or a regular trimmer to trim the top and bottom. Use a Distress Tool to distress the top and bottom. Use an Ink Blending Tool and Gathered Twigs or another brown ink and ink the edges well, and then rub the pad directly over the top lightly to bring out some more woodgrain. Mount this onto Kraft Cardstock with Collage Medium, and cut around the Kraft the same as you did the sign, deckle the sides and straight on top and bottom.

Take the new Cracked 3D Texture Fade, and working quickly, rub the pad of Hickory Smoke Archival over the inside raised areas on the Fade. Lightly mist the sign with water, and place into the Fade and run through the machine. Remove the sign from the Fade, and use a Detail Waterbrush and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to watercolor in the letters and around the inside edge of the sign to give it more depth.

Cut Black Kraftstock to mount on front of card, with that bottom Deckle edge. Sand over the whole surface some to reveal the Kraft underneath the black, and ink over all the sanded areas and the sides with Gathered Twigs. Put together the little skull from the Colorize Graveyard Thinlits with black first, then kraft, then Watercolor Cardstock. Ink around him and on the raised parts with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Adhere him in place on the sign. Add Long Fasteners to the corners of the inner sign (I only did three to make it look like one is missing) and use the Craft Hammer to give the brads distressing. Rub Hickory Smoke Archival over the heads of the brads to further distress them. IF leaving one corner without a brad, use a craft pick to make a hole and distress it up. Adhere the sign to the Black Kraftstock and then onto the card front.

Cut more Black Kraftstock to fit inside the card...top (4.5 x 6 inches with Deckle edge on top), center 1/4 x 6, and bottom 4.5 x 6 inches. Distress all the surfaces with the sanding disks, and ink over them with Gathered Twigs. Ink the right and left edges with Black Soot Archival. Adhere all three inside the card with two sided tape. Take the white pinked edge Halloween Trim Tape and apply a strip of it along the bottom edge and trim off the excess. Close the card and use the tape again on both bottom corners at a diagonal, trimming off excess, and across the top wrapping around to the back. Using a little Collage Medium is good so none of the edges come up since there is so much ink on it.

Die cut the Layered Dots Thinlits, Black for solid, Kraft for small dots, and Black again for larger dots. Save all the dot pieces for another project like a shaker card. Also save the the side pieces with the half circle cuts from the Black Kraftstock, as these will be more headstones. Adhere only the dotted pieces together and save the black for die cutting in a minute. Select some Artsy Leaves (five of them) and die cut them using the dotted piece, making sure there are open dots on all to add some eyeball highlights later. These are the trees. Die cut two of the stem pieces for trunks using black. Sand the trees a tiny bit and ink over that with Gathered Twigs. Die cut the same trees using the Black Kraftstock from before, and then adhere the trees on the coordinating black pieces. This was just to make the dotted piece less thick for easier die cutting and less stress on the die pieces.

Cut off some of the bottom edge on one of the half circle pieces and adhere it to the other half circle piece so it looks like two rows of headstones like in a cemetery. Cut the left side at an angle. Sand over it a bit to bring out the headstone shapes, and ink over the sanding with the Gathered Twigs. Select two of the trees and the trunks and adhere them to the right side of the top piece so they will be tall trees in the distance. Adhere the rows of headstones below these covering up some of the trunk parts. Die cut three gates using Black Kraftstock and three single gate parts as well. Adhere one gate part to the left side and two on the right side keeping them in line with the sides and bottom of the background piece. Die cut the medium circle from the Sized Circles Movers and Shapers or use another circle. Ink in the moon parts using the smallest Moon Mask and Lost Shadow Distress Ink. Ink the edges as well. Die cut the 'BOO!' using the Wood Slice alpha pieces and Black Kraftstock and adhere those on the moon. Add an Adhesive Spring to the back of the moon and adhere the moon to the middle top of the top piece. Die cut the urn and both headstones using Black and two shades of gray Kraftstock, the plant with two shades of green, and seven dirt/grass pieces using more green.

Adhere the urn and one of the shortest trees to the left side. Add a grass piece to top of urn and then the plant pieces on. Adhere more grass pieces along the bottom of the gate and below the row of headstones. Take the two sets of Remnant Rubs, and cut out a cat, the large sentiment, some bats, and a headstone title. Rub on the cat on the gate top on the left side, the bats on the moon, and the sentiment to the center bottom of the bottom piece. Rub on the headstone sentiment to one of the headstones. Die cut another skull the same as before, along with one of the plant pieces using Watercolor Cardstock,  and some cross pieces using gray.  Add cross to top of the other headstone along with a tree behind that. Add grass pieces in front and behind headstone. Add a part of the white plant piece behind the headstone to look like arm bones or fingers or whatever and then the skull to that, so that it looks like the skeleton is peeping behind the headstone. Add a tree behind that, and grass along the bottom. Use a white pen to add in eyeball highlights to some of the holes in the trees and on the cat and skull. Draw in the white lines around the sentiment to help it pop more on the bottom portion. Take the Collage Medium and add it over the cat to give it some dimension and make it a little easier to see once the medium dries. Set this aside for a bit to dry.

Cut two pieces of Black Kraftstock to about 3/4 x 5 inches. Fold one side about 1/2 inch and secure the fold with two sided tape. Make another fold about 1.5 inches above that. Adhere the 1.5 inch side to the back of each headstone. Lay the headstone face down on the bottom piece, matching up the tree tops to the bottom edge of card (along the center and right sides more or less). Secure the 1/2 inch piece to the bottom of the bottom piece with two sided tape, so that the headstone is now secure to the bottom portion only. Flip the headstone up straight parallel to the top portion, and figure out where you need to fold the strip in order to secure it to the top portion. Make the fold and then trim the piece that will be adhered to about 1/2 inch. Add two sided tape to that piece and then stick it on to the top portion nice and straight. Fold the card shut to make sure the headstones are folded flat and not seen, and make any hard crisp folds to make that happen. Open and close the card a few times to make sure all pops up and doesn't catch anywhere. Finished. ***I think it would be great to add an open and closing strap to the front of the card just to make it more interesting to open, but I wasn't able to make time to do that.
