R U 2012

I have to admit that in the last month I have had some yucky things going on in my personal life. I have had a tragic death in my family, my mother is undergoing tests for breast cancer, which she has already had once, and the whole phone thing just made it worse (I am not looking for sympathy as I have a point here). I have been feeling a little down and Mr. Mojo was on the down low as well, BUT THEN....I started to remember I'm going to Ranger U, and a large beacon shined for me again and reeled me back to happy land! I decided to focus on this and kick the yucky feelings out, and not surprisingly Mr. Mojo came back for a visit! I started thinking I needed something I could look at all the time that reminded me of this, so I made a little something to transport me back to happy land, that pays homage to this fulfilled dream of mine.
I also designed this around a few challenges. Simon Says Stamp & Show has a challenge of "Inspiration: Studio 490", Sunday Stamper's challenge is "transport", and at the Everything Wendy Vecchi Yahoo Group, the fortnightly challenge is "hinges" from Wendy's Book 3 pg. 25.
I painted Large Watch Art Parts with gold paint dabber.
I sanded the edges of everything then inked them with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
I stamped the car, truck, and ink Art Parts with Jet Black Archival using the coordinating stamps. I inked them with Walnut Stain. I also stamped a smaller ink bottle and a box of wax crayons onto kraft paper using Jet Black Archival. The pointed hand was stamped with the Artist definition image.
I cut a circle using plastic mirror. I wanted to be able to see myself when I read the sentiments...I'm weird I know. I stamped Wendy's Queen of Art in Jet Black Archival.
I stamped the letter image over the Queen in Sepia Archival, but using a paper mask over the queen to keep her image safe.
I stamped the sentiments on the door in Jet Black, adhered the mirror, then attached the hinge. I added all the other elements, embellishments, and chain with charm.

Supplies:
From My Stash: chain, wooden dowel, chipboard letters, scrap kraft paper, snaps, hinge, and a pair of my mini Tim scissors

A Hoping Englishman

Happy Wednesday crafting peeps! Here is a finished out tag I created from Tim's Creative Chemistry 101 Day 6 technique of stamping with Distress Markers, that I thought was perfect for the Blogger's Challenge of "birds".  This sentiment from Artistic Outpost's new release Quote & Quoteables is perfect for Tim's Englishman with something on his mind!

March Tags & ATC's Arrive

Yay!!! My swapped out March ATC's from the All Things Tim Yahoo Group have arrived, as well as the March tags from the Ranger Ink Link Yahoo Group. These arrived just in time to lift my spirits somewhat, after a crappy person stole my iphone on Saturday, which basically runs my whole scheduled life. I haven't even been able to see past the red in my eyes due to the rage of knowing someone out there knows pretty much where my family and I am at certain hours of the day, not to mention my address, and lots of account information, and is looking at all my pictures and texts. I'm starting to get angry again, and you don't need to see that side of me (think Hulk), but you know what they say about karma! Thanks ladies for swapping out with me, and bringing a bit of sunshine to my storm filled weekend!

All Things Tim: Blue and Orange March Madness ATC Swap
Susan Salyer (This is so bright and fun Susan! I love the texture and glitter, and that birdy in it's nest is wonderful. Awesome title too....so cool!)
Susan Kesselman (Love Umbrella Man, and this quote is perfect! Great idea with the crackle as well, the texture is fabulous!)
Sue Burland (I love the paint and texture here, it feels fab to the touch. The birdy is adorable as well. The netting is excellent here, and adds so much to the texture...love this!)
And...here is mine again.

Ranger Ink Link:  Going Green Tag Swap
Victoria Sturdevant (I love this Wendy gal, and she looks awesome in green. The embossing is perfect and shiny against the splotched background...so cool Vic!)
Christine Orman (The pop of pink here rocks, and I love your repurposed embellies, especially that bread tie...genius!  Love the charm....Awesome!)
Nancy Walker (I was thrilled to get this tag, as I fell in love with it the minute I saw it on Nancy's blog! We all have tags and extra buttons from our clothes, so how cool is this? Talk about inspiration here Nancy! Gorgeous!)
And...here is mine again.

Artistic Outpost's April Challenge Theme

Lovely Sunday to all of you craft lovers out there, and Happy April Fool's Day! There is no trickery here though, just a challenge. Today starts the April Artistic Outpost Customer Referrel Theme Challenge of "birds". You must use only the stamped images of AO, and you have a month to complete and link it up. The chosen winner will receive an awesome prize package.
For my card I decided to go with AO's Birds of a Feather set as well as the new release Quote & Quoteables. I stamped the two bird images on packaging from 7 Gypsies, the sentiment on ivory cardstock, and the background images all in Jet Black Archival Ink. I colored in the robins and the nest using my new favorite product Distress Markers. Feathers, stick pins, frayed burlap, burlap ribbon, metal flowers, and gorgeous filigree metal embellies finished off the card, along with a little Gathered Twigs Distress Ink around the borders.
 Supplies:
From My Stash: ivory cardstock, feathers, stick pins
