Hey everyone! When I first saw the Colorize Paper Chicks Thinlit set from Tim Holtz and Sizzix, my eye caught the grass layers part, and I knew right away that I would use it for a golf green. I am always on the look out for things to use for golf cards, as all my boys play. My oldest son just turned 25 years old, and golf is his thing, so I put together this card in under 30 minutes...can you believe that?!! I just love the size disparities of the flag and green on this card and it cracks me up. He loved the card too, and that was the best part. You can put any number on the flag for whatever birthday someone who loves golf is having. Enjoy this fast make!
Trim White Heavystock to
4.5 x 5.5. Ink over it with Speckled Egg Distress Ink and an Ink Blending Tool.
Lightly mist over it with water creating droplets and then use a paper towel to
blot off the water. Apply Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to mat and pick up with a
water brush. Flick the brush over the paper to create brown droplets. Dry. Cut
dark green Kraft Core to 2.5 x 4.5 inches and cut the top to look like small
hills. Adhere to the bottom of the blue sky Heavystock with two sided tape. Ink
the edges of the sky with Speckled Egg and the grass with Gathered Twigs.
Adhere this to White Heavystock cut to 4 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches with two sided
tape. Adhere that to a Kraft card base folded to 5 x 6 inches. Ink the edges of
the card with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.
Using the Sizzix Colorize
Papercut Chicks Thinlits, take out the three grass die pieces only. Add two
sided tape to the back of the same dark green as before for the largest piece,
and a medium green for the middle piece and a light green for the smallest die
piece. Die cut the pieces and ink the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink,
and then adhere them in place. Adhere the golf green onto the center of the
grassy hills.
Using
a black marker draw on oblong circle on the right side of the golf green. Cut a
piece of Silver Metallic Kraftstock to 1/8 x 4 inches, and adhere it with
Collage Medium from the black hole just drawn, slanting slightly right. Using
red Classic Kraft Core, die cut the Mini 25 from the Sizzix Mini Reindeer and
25 Movers and Shapers, and save the negative for another project. Adhere the 25
centered on White Heavystock cut to 1 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches. Cut two strips of red
Kraft Core and adhere on both sides of the white. Mount this on black
cardstock, and then adhere it to the card front at the top of the silver pole
slightly overlapping the pole.
Stamp Happy Birthday from
the Simple Sayings stamp set from Stamper's Anonymous in Black Soot Archival
onto White Heavystock and cut around the words and then cut the words apart.
Adhere the words onto red Kraft Core, and then adhere them onto the front of
the card at the lower right. Use a regular hole punch and punch a white circle
from Heavystock. Rub on a number 1 from the Numbers Remnant Rubs onto the ball,
and then adhere the ball onto the green with Collage Medium.
Select a Paper Doll from
the Solos set, and use Distress Crayons and a waterbrush to color some parts
in. Dry. Ink the edges of the doll with Gathered Twigs. Adhere the doll to the
card front with foam tape at the top and Collage Medium at the feet.
