Tim Holtz Sizzix Chapter 1 - No LION You're My MANE Man Colorize Harrison and Funky Trees Valentine Card

(Quick Note: On my last post I accidentally kept typing 'Motherboard' instead of 'Masterboard' because my brain ceases to function sometimes, so I think I fixed all the errors of the post here and on social media. I'm so sorry for the confusion it might have caused...motherboard is for computers not!)

One more day until Love Day! I hope all of you have had a chance to make a card or two. This is the last of my Valentine makes, and probably the most fun of all of them to make, plus it's for the hubs who also happens to have a Valentine birthday. Hope he likes it! This card uses the new Colorize Harrison Thinlits and the Funky Trees from Tim Holtz and Sizzix. I seriously had the Lion King theme playing over and over in my head making this, and then I came up with a slew of a play on words captions using LION and MANE, but finally settled on the combination of these two. Seriously, Harrison is so much fun! Enjoy and happy Valentine's Day to all of you!

(Note: I made two cards, so everything is doubled.) Cut pieces of brown felt to fit in the Colorize Harrison dies (dark to light 1 to 5), and add two sided tape to the back of the felt. Die cut the pieces, and adhere together following the picture. For the black, white, and pink parts use Classic Kraft Stock, and add those. Use white thread and a needle to add whiskers if desired.
Using the Funky Trees dies, use two shades of green kraft stock, and two shades of gray, and a brown to die cut each tree, making sure there is two sided tape to the back (I used the medium and small trees in whole, but only the bottom branch from the large tree. I'll save the extra for another project.). Ink all the pieces using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Use a gray trunk and adhere layers with light green and darker green on. Then make trees with the brown trunk. You will have extra pieces left, namely grays and brown leaf portions. To me they looked like rocks, so I came up with the Pride Rock idea. To make the rock feature, adhere the pieces together starting with light gray on top, dark gray underneath, and brown under that in the shape of pride rock from the movie Lion King, making sure that the lion will fit correctly on a 5x6.5 inch card, with the rock in the lower right corner.
Using the Deckle Trimmer, cut a piece of Distress Watercolor Paper to 4.75 x 6.25 inches. Using Distress Oxide Sprays and a water mister, mist water on the silicon mat and add drops of Oxide into the water. Mix it up to paint with a watercolor paint brush. Paint in the sky in the upper 1/3 of card using Tumbled Glass. Add extra water to really move the color around but leave streaks of white for the clouds. Under the white areas, add Fossilized Amber. Add Spun Sugar and Shaded Lilac above the white areas. Blend with water to soften any hard lines of paint. Use Picket Fence Distress Spray to make the clouds darker. Paint the whole bottom portion with Brushed Corduroy. Use Shaded Lilac to deepen the horizon, and to add faint hills. Add short vertical lines in the front area using Fossilized Amber, Bundled Sage, and Twisted Citron, using extra water to blend. When dry, ink the edges of sky with Speckled Egg and the edges of land with Gathered Twigs.

Use the lion to see where the rock should be adhered, and then adhere rock piece to lower right corner using College Medium. Adhere small tree to top of land area on the left side. Add top of medium tree to lower left area. Cut the bottom branch off of the large tree and adhere it on above the rock piece.
Cut the Kraft Heavystock to 10.25 x 6.5 inches. Use a trimmer with score tool (I used a rub on tool.), and score the card at 5 inches and then again at 5.25 inches. Fold on those lines making a card with a 1/4 inch wide depth. This will make the card close nicely since the lion is layered and not flat. Place the heart from Heartbeat in the upper right corner leaving a 1/4 inch on each side, and die cut. Using scissors, cut off the heart rhythm piece and use on another project. Ink the edges of the card heavily with Gathered Twigs and then flick water on it to create water marks. Stitch around the card front and the heart using white thread and a sewing machine. Stitch around the border of the watercolor piece as well.
Using a smaller piece of watercolor cardstock (about 2 by 6 if making two cards), watercolor it in the same way as the sky on the larger piece, using Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, Fossilized Amber, and Picket Fence. Add two sided tape to the back, and use the Upper and Lower Tiny Type Alphanumeric Dies to die cut 'No', 'You're my', and 'man'. Die cut 'LION' and 'MANE' using the four colors of brown felt. Adhere the letters on the front of the card...'No LION.' to the top left and 'You're my MANE man!' to the bottom right under the heart.
Adhere the watercolor piece to the inside of the card, and the lion onto the rock, making sure you can see him through the heart. Using the two larger hearts from the Falling Hearts Thinlits, die cut one of each in pink cardstock, ink the edges and adhere to the left bottom of the card front.
