Hey everyone! I'm back again with the third sample set of cards for Stamper's Anonymous and Tim Holtz's Christmas 2020 release, these made with the Holiday Scenes stamp set. Plaid is all the rage so I incorporated papers and tissue tape with matching ink to showcase the gorgeous vintage scenes. Enjoy!
(NOTE:
Before beginning make sure to match your papers to your Design Tape as well as
inks coordinating with them. You can see my ink swatch where I was looking to
match to the papers. Also, I used Oxide Ink because it is opaque and I needed
the best image especially since some of the inks are light in color.) Trim
Specialty Stamping Paper to 2 1/8 x 5 1/8, three pieces if making all three
cards. Using the stamping platform, position stamp and tape off sentiment so it
won't get inked. Prime the stamp well and let sit for a few minutes with
whatever ink you are using for a clearer image. Ink stamp heavily, remove
scotch tape, and then stamp each scene on SSP using Fired Brick, Old Paper, and
Speckled Egg Oxide, heat embossing each with clear powder, making sure you are NOT
STAMPING SENTIMENT. If you don't get a
perfect image the first time, try again as since this is a stamp platform you
can do this perfectly. Trim away any white paper you don't want on the edges,
round the corners, and mount these on black cardstock cut 2 1/4 x 5 1/4 with
two sided tape. Set aside. Remember you can always practice first on a few
pieces of scratch paper.
Add
Design Tape to bottom edge of tag just above the notch in the tag (tag will be
horizontal with hole on the right side). Press the tape firmly to the tag
running your finger across to remove any air, because if you don't the tape
will buckle during embossing. Wrap the tape around the back of the tag, and
trim any overhang and the notch part as well. Position the stamp on the
platform so that the sentiment will be centered on the tape. Use scotch tape
again right above sentiment to mask the scene image so that it does not get
stamped. Rub the tag liberally with the anti static bag so that the white
powder does not stick (very important). Ink the sentiment only with Jet Black
Archival (or whatever kind you want), remove the tape, and stamp sentiment. Heat
emboss with white embossing powder. Do this for each tag with each sentiment. Ink
the edges of the tag with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.
Using
a clean Blending Brush and Picket Fence Distress, stencil in some Snowflakes
from the Mini Layering Set 50 over the tag, taking care not to get any on the
tape portion. Dry thoroughly with a heat tool.
Mount scene on tag with two sided tape. Ink edges of tag with Gathered Twigs Distress
Ink. Fold ribbon in half and push through tag hole front to back and pulling
tails through loop. Fish tail ends of ribbon. Mount tag on black cardstock cut
3 1/4 x 6 3/8 inches with foam tape.
Cut
plaid paper (The three designs I choose were matched to the Oxide Ink, so if
you chose another plaid make sure to match the ink.) to 3 3/4 x 8 inches. Ink
the edges in Black Soot Distress and stitch around border using white thread.
Mount the plaid to a kraft card base cut 4 x 8 1/4 inches. Ink edges of kraft
in Gathered Twigs. Mount tag onto card front using two sided tape.
