Only hours to go, but I got my monochromatic project done for
Wendy Vecchi's Make Art Challenge for August...PHEW!!! Sometimes I can thrive under pressure! ;0) If you haven't gotten your project done you still have a few hours to go!
I used lots of oldies but goodies to create flowers in a vase, and I wanted to use some things in a different way. |
I used Wendy's Archival Inks and rubbing alcohol for the background on both Manila and Specialty Stamping Paper from Ranger. |
I inked the Art Parts and stamped images with Archival Ink as well. |
Background stamping with Archival. |
More stamping. |
And still more stamping, and these I cut out, and foam taped. |
I inked some of Tim's Linen Ribbon with Archival and doodled a little on the tag. I also added Glossy Accents to the center parts of the flowers. |
FYI...in the coming week, I'll be bringing you some pictures of my upcoming Autumn and Halloween classes that I will be teaching in the Dallas area. I've been a little behind in posting, but hopefully I'll catch up soon. Again, thanks so very much for all the comments, emails, and messages checking up on the family and me. I treasure all of you!!!

I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!
monochromatic & beautiful!
ReplyDeletelove it!
Ok -- to be a second comment behind Wendy Vecchi herself. No pressure. All I've got to say is that you are a GENIUS with stamping and layout. And that background with archival ink and rubbing alcohol is just awesome (gotta try that). I think I've said this before ... but you literally must leak creativity. I don't think one person can contain all the creative ideas that you have. That vase with the flowers are sooooooo awesome! I'm seriously jealous of anyone who can take one of your classes. Hopefully I will be able to catch up with one of them myself some day. Hope your husband is doing better. Wishing him a speedy recovery!! Hugs -- Mary Elizabeth

This is such a gorgeous color palette! So many glorious shades of gold and yellow it makes my heart sing! The layering is divine, and the soft shimmer is like sunshine on a tag. The little bird is such a wonderful addition and the sentiment is perfect. I still have the tag you sent me on display in my studio. It speaks to me every time I look at it.
