A Crabby Tag?!!

Hello again this week everyone! Today, I just wanted to show you an easy way to use up all that tissue and washi tape I know you have stashed! Admit it...you have too much...just like me! ;0) So here is a beach themed tag using lots of washi tape that I made just for the fun of it.
You see the two washi tape holders here? I have two more of them filled to the brim! YIKES!!! I don't know why, but I LOVE tissue and washi tapes. I need them all!!! Surprisingly though, I find I don't use them as often as I should, so that is what made me decide I needed to do something to use them up. I took a #10 Manila tag from Ranger...my favorite size... and covered the whole thing up with horizontal strips of the tapes.
I trimmed them around the tag, and punched the hole at the top. It looks real cool like this, but now this new substrate is ready to be covered up.
I used Tim's Rays Layering Stencil and Wendy's Buttercup Archival Ink to make the sun. I really wanted it to be vibrant, so I also added a coat of Glossy Accents to the sun.
I used a sheet of scrap paper to cover up the areas I didn't want inked in Tree Branch Archival and then gave the bottom a inking with it to mimic the sandy beach.
I used more scrap paper to cover up the top and bottom, and then inked the middle, the water, with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink...appropriate I think!
Then I used Mermaid Lagoon and Picket Fence Distress Paints and a paintbrush to make waves in the water...so fun!
I used a Detailed Water Brush and Festive Berries to color in the embossed crab. I also stamped him on the sand area, and then fussy cut the red one to layer it on the stamped crab. He is so cute, and I named him Larry.
I thought the sunrise needed more color, so I used Rusty Hinge and Festive Berries to add in color around the rays. The Glossy Accents resists the color. I also die cut the greenery, added the words, and then used flicked on some Black Soot Distress Paint on the sand with a paintbrush.  Then I used a white pen to add a little more to the waves.
I used more Mermaid Lagoon to color the Crinkle Ribbon.
Enjoy the summer everyone!!!
