Hello everyone crafty! Did you know there is a new challenge blog called Make Art??? It's based on all things Wendy Vecchi, one of my favorite people in the crafting industry. This month the challenge is "Hearts", the universal symbol for love. Gotta love that!!! And to top off that love of Wendy Vecchi goodness, The Funkie Junkie Boutique is sponsoring the challenge with a $25 gift certificate to the online store, to a random participant.
If you read my last Bella Crafts post about Uptown Funk, then you know I recently decided to start a new art journal using the theme of music that I love. I needed a wonderful cover for my journal, so I thought this challenge would be perfect to get it going.
I decided to get a background going on the cover by using Wendy's new technique, Splattered Plaster. The lady is genius, and her knack for playing with products always breeds new and wonderful techniques...she is the best! |
Yummy...don't you love that Splattered Plaster look?!! I filled in the areas not covered with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, and then misted with water. |
Then came Art Parts...my legos! I tried the Faux Graniteware Technique of Wendy's too, on the heart. I also adhered some sheet music to the wings, and inked the words with Jet Black. |
Love that Speckled Stamp! |

I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!

ReplyDeleteI would just like to say that when my in-laws came to visit our brand new built home and decided to tear the towel rack out of the wall, I too splattered plaster and it looked absolutely nothing like this sensational piece of artwork you've made here. Thanks for the wonderful Monday morning inspiration with WV's new technique. As always, I dig your groovy brain.
hugs to you chica,
Lisa
