Hello everyone and happy happy Autumn!
I've been so busy kitting lately for the biggest class I've ever had...Christmas Village Centerpiece... so I'm sorry to have been gone for so long. MASSIVE "Thank You's" go out to all of you who commented on the baby shoes! I was absolutely blown away by all the attention they received. I really thought I'd get some sad faces over those, but it was all good...again thank you tons!
AND, with all the kitting came a little clean up, which produced the freebie products that I was supposed to give away after CHA Summer! HELLO! None of you reminded me that I was supposed to do that! ;0) I totally forgot and I am so sorry, but don't y'all want some goodies?!? I'll choose a winner from this post's comments and let you know who won on Monday, September 30th.
Now onto my September tag for Tim's 12 Tags of 2013. I followed all the steps, but gave it an Autumn twist...my favoritest season!!! While I did like a few things about the tag, I definitely thought it was way too cluttered up, so I gave it another go. I know, so not me to do a redo. I am a firm believer that there are no mistakes in Art, but I just wasn't satisfied.
I used the Clockwork and Rays Stencils with the Distress Paint after I added the Embossing Paste leaves using Dyan's Leaf Flourish Stencil. I was definitely a little sloppy with the Clockwork one...you cannot even make out the clock, but I thought I should keep going on it. |
Autumn colors of Stains came next and I was much happier because of the warm coloring, but then I just couldn't stop adding more stenciling and stamping. Why do I have to be so gaudy? |
Supplies:
I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Anita (well it is morning for me!) I am normally a Blue Green girl and I am definitely going to try the tip with the glitter but I love the look of the Autumn tag. It has a batik style that looks fab. Good luck with the class - I just took a peek and I can only imagine how much cutting and collating you have been doing!!! Great project to get you in the mood for Christmas. Thanks for the chance to win. x
ReplyDeleteI don't see gaudy, I just see beautiful, rich autumnal colours - it is stunning! Love the blue one too though (funny, I had to do two this time but I am not happy with either - lol). You have been sorely missed but that class must take tons of your time, it is such a huge (and fabulous) project. Hope you are well. Thanks for the chance to win the goodies too! Big hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteOh my, Anita, those tags are so beautiful and rich from color! And, those are my colors...the blues and greens. You did such a good job of capturing the light in both of these amazing tags. And the blog candy looks extra yummy! See you in class. I'm determined to fit it in, even if I have to get up in the middle of the night to make it happen. xoxo

ReplyDeleteFall is also one of my fav's too, but the Birds in Blue are hard to pass by!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous tags Anita ! Full of colour and detail, as usual. Didn't realise there's a 102!! Need to check that out ! Sue C x
ReplyDeleteLove both your tags. I like the autumn shades, so rich and warm. All that stencilling and inkyness is fab. The blue/green one is like the cool cousin. I do like blue, so you had me from the start, but those birds and the contrasting black and white and, well everything really. Two great tags. Love your distressed edges as well. Can't beat a good distressed edge.......
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I like Fall or Spring better! Love Fall and all the color changes and cooling, but love the emerging of Spring and renewal! Kind of like your tags, love them both! Great details and the touch of gold is brilliant! Hugs!

Not "gaudy" at all....I always admire your take on projects! I wish I had your eye for color, though-I am so color challenged! Off to find some leaves- can't fault Mother Nature's colors!
ReplyDeleteHello Anita
ReplyDeleteYou know there are mistakes in ART all the time, this is how we learn, the secret, as you have just realised is to know what are the good ones and what are the bad ones, the real Art is the ability to tell them apart, and the ability to learn from your mistakes is the ability to spot them. Great Tags as always.
Smiles:)
Sue
Hi Anita, Gorgeous tags... I can't pick a favorite as both are beautiful...you blend colours so well..Love the designs..it' great to see you posting again... Hugs May x x x
ReplyDeleteHi Anita, fabulous as always. I want to say how much I appreciate you sharing all of your techniques with us. There are so many crafting supplies, that when I'm in a craft store I get totally confused. You all a huge help in this area, thank you.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
love both tags - not gaudy at all, the colors are amazing. I love how the glitter mixed with embossing paste came out for your stars. I'm not much of a glitter girl but these look really nice on the blue. Your crinkle ribbons came out gorgeous and I love the little charms. Awesome tags! I hope you have a fun time teaching your class after you get all the kitting done. Thanks for the opportunity to win this great pile of goodies!
ReplyDeleteI understand your absence Anita as the kits for your class must be massive and take quite a lot of time to put together. X love both your tags. I love the colours of the leaves and the second tag is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteCrafty hugs Annie x
Fabulous tags, I love how the white pops on each of the backgrounds. Fabulous giveaway too. Hope you are keeping well . Tracy x

ReplyDeletehugs {brenda} x0x
great tags Anita! keep up that kitting work - it must be massive for that project! Wishing you luck my friend!

Sometimes less is more....but sometimes more is more! I have learned there is a line in between where you will hate the piece and you have to push though and add more sometimes, and at that point you really have nothing to lose but try it because your thinking it's trash at that point.
ReplyDeleteJust something I have found. Sometimes it works sometimes not.
Anita, I can see you put a lot of work into both tags, they are fabulous! Remember no mistakes in ART!
ReplyDeleteIt was 90 here today, waiting on those cool days of fall weather.
I love the sublime color schemes you chose, as well as the crispness of your craftsmanship. Blessings, my friend!

ReplyDeleteLove both your tags - fall colours in crafting are a favourite with me too, and we all know I love the blues/greens. Gorgeous... It took me three goes until I was happy with my September tag (publishing tomorrow probably) - but I'm not planning to reveal the two 'fails'!!

Much love,
Alison xx
Hi Anita, glad to see you back! Sounds like your class is going to be awesome! If you were closer, I would be front and center to learn from you! Both your tags are fab! I love your layering, that is something I don't know how to do well. I better get cracking on my tag! I love the starts you made (got 2 of the glitters, but mine are green and raspberry...). 102 is going to rock I am sure. It sure was fun and all the sharing while it was on was great. Funny thing, I had most of the supplies on the list so when I took a picture of what I needed, it really wasn't much at all, mostly the bottles and 3D stuff like the bottles. Enjoy the weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your tags! The blue one is fabulous. Thanks for the chance to win some goodies. I'd love them!
ReplyDeleteI love them both but I do like the "less is more" effect you went with on the bird tag. The blue and green hues and the translucent glittering stars really stand out. Fabulous makes as always my dear :)
ReplyDeleteAmy*
