Hello Crafty Peeps! Did you know that there is a challenge blog called
A Vintage Journey that is catered to all things
Tim Holtz? I am so honored that they asked me to be a
Guest Designer over there today. The theme of the new challenge is "
Texture", and they want to know how Tim inspires you to add texture to the project you enter in the challenge, and we all know there are a ton of different ways. Doesn't that sound so cool? I hope you enter, and I hope to inspire you here today with this Flying Pig on a 9x11 inch birch wood panel, that has another of my numbered creatures! To see the
peacock or
butterfly that I've made previously, click on the links.

I could go on and on about Tim inspires me to create texture, but on this particular project I've choosen only a few. ;0) |
 |
Glossy Accents adds depth as well as shine. I've used it on the numbers on the pig, and on the waves of wind throughout. |
 |
Even a Stabilo Pen can add texture to Chit Chat stickers. |
 |
More texture is noticed from the wood grain itself, as well as stamped painted images on the background of the panel. |
 |
Wendy Vecchi's Embossing Paste and Tim's Layering Stencils are a match made in craft land. I love the crackled texture on the sun's rays. |
 |
Tim's Sizzix Texture Fades add awesome texture to his Sizzix Dies, like on the wings of the pig. |
Thanks so much to
Brenda Brown and all the team for having me at A Vintage Journey! I appreciate it so very much! AND, I hope you all join in on the fun!!!
I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!
