Pigs are a Flying at A Vintage Journey!!!

Hello Crafty Peeps! Did you know that there is a challenge blog called A Vintage Journey that is catered to all things Tim Holtz? I am so honored that they asked me to be a Guest Designer over there today. The theme of the new challenge is "Texture", and they want to know how Tim inspires you to add texture to the project you enter in the challenge, and we all know there are a ton of different ways.  Doesn't that sound so cool? I hope you enter, and I hope to inspire you here today with this Flying Pig on a 9x11 inch birch wood panel, that has another of my numbered creatures! To see the peacock or butterfly that I've made previously, click on the links.
I could go on and on about Tim inspires me to create texture, but on this particular project I've choosen only a few. ;0)
Glossy Accents adds depth as well as shine. I've used it on the numbers on the pig, and on the waves of wind throughout.

Even a Stabilo Pen can add texture to Chit Chat stickers.
More texture is noticed from the wood grain itself, as well as stamped painted images on the background of the panel.
Wendy Vecchi's Embossing Paste and Tim's Layering Stencils are a match made in craft land. I love the crackled texture on the sun's rays.
Tim's Sizzix Texture Fades add awesome texture to his Sizzix Dies, like on the wings of the pig.
Thanks so much to Brenda Brown and all the team for having me at A Vintage Journey! I appreciate it so very much! AND, I hope you all join in on the fun!!!
I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!

CC3C - Layering Stencils & Texture Paste

Happy wonderful Saturday crafty beings! Today marks the fourth challenge in the new Compendium of Curiosities III Challenge!!! The Curiosity Crew and I REALLY want you all to know that the entries from the challenges totally blow us away! We struggle to pick our favorites each time, and it's so difficult. Of all of the design teams for challenges I've been on, the entries for this one have all been amazing. I wish each of you could win! AND...thank you thank you thank you for all of the comments. My cup runneth over!
Challenge number four is all about Layering Stencils and Texture Paste! These two go hand in hand, and I hope all of you play along on this challenge so you can win some amazing fabulous prizes donated by the ever generous Tim and Mario, and this fourth challenge's sponsor, The Funkie Junkie Boutique!!! Thank you sponsors for your generosity! You will have two weeks to complete this challenge and link it up to the CC3Challenge site, and you can carefully read all the rules here. Please take the time to visit every member of the Curiosity Crew (See below.) for not only some gorgeous textured inspiration, but for a chance to win some extra goodies!
Since Father's Day is just around the corner here in the U.S.A., I decided to make an 8x10 wood panel plaque for the man in my life, my hubby, and even though he is not my father, I am sooooooooo happy he is the father of my babes!
I absolutely LOVE all the texture on this from the technique, and I learned some things along the way. This is one of those projects you want to feel and touch, as the photos do not do it justice. If you haven't done this tech yet, I promise you will love it, and do try experimenting with different stencils and pastes. Sorry I have no step outs on this one, but I got so lost in the pleasure of the creating that I totally forgot to snap photos...that is how fabulous this technique is...plus I really got to get my grunge and vintage on which is my passion. Hope you enjoy!
Cabinet Cards and Found Relatives are my new passion too!

Happy Father's Day out there to all the wonderful men with babes!!!
