End Of Summer Tag Card

Summer ends this week, so I thought I would make one more Summer related project, and incorporate a few challenges (Okay, FOUR...but I'm pressed for time!) into it. At The Stamp Man Challenge, the theme is "Summer Hot Colors",  the Blogger's Challenge has a theme for "Silhouettes", the Sunday Stamper challenge is "Ribbons", and Unruly Paper Arts Reader Art Quest 1, has a theme of "4x4 Format".

I sprayed a jumbo #10 sized tag as well as a piece of Manila paper sized 3 1/2 inch square with water. Then I sprayed Cut Grass, Fresh Squeezed Lime, London Blue, and Lemon Zest Dylusions Ink Sprays onto both items. I dried them thoroughly with a heat tool. I folded the tag in half and then set it aside.

I stamped the solid leaf design with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink to make a silhouette image several times.

Using the dotted Dylusions stencil, I inked Picked Raspberry Distress Ink through the floral portion of the stencil, to make a few silhouette flowers.

I adhered three strips of ribbon to the card, but only down the middle of the ribbon so the sides were without adhesive.

I stitched down the middle of each piece of ribbon forwards and back, to make a nice thick seamed line, and stitched around the border of the card as well.

I stamped the Dylusions leaf image in Jet Black Archival directly onto the stitched ribbon. I colored in each leaf with Cut Grass Dylusions using a Detailer Water Brush. I fluffed up the sides of the ribbon to add texture and contrast.

Using the same floral stencil, I traced around 3 flowers with a permanent marker.

I colored in the petals and centers of the flowers with Lemon Zest and Bubblegum Pink Dylusions in a Detailer Water Brush.

I traced around the colored flower parts with Glaze Pens, to get a raised image to add more texture as well as some shine.

I filled in each flower with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink using a Detailer Water Brush, and I added a few more silhouette petals here and there. I mounted this card onto white cardstock, gave it a sentiment, and then set it aside.

I used an 18 inch sheer ribbon to thread through the hole in the tag, and then pulled it through to allow each side of the tag to have an equal amount of ribbon. I stitched around the perimeter of the whole tag, as well as down the middle to define both halves and keep the ribbon in place. I folded the tag back in half, and adhered the card onto the part of the tag without the hole. I tied the ribbon into a bow to close the tag card.

Paintbrushes...Not Just For Painting! (Part 2)

And the obsession continues! Here is my Paintbrush Art Queen, dubbed Artista, and yes, she is hoarding her Art products! Don't judge her!!! She is created with all that's good...Art Parts and Idea-ology, and stamps so inky.  She is my new muse, my current artistic hero, who has sagely advise to give to me and others, "Art is not what you see. Art is what you help others to see." Those are words to creatively live and blog by. ***Note to self:  It might be time to step away from the creative cave, and visit with normal people!!!
