Stamped Toile Christmas Cards

Happy Wednesday everyone, and one week to go...I'm still not ready! Today, another set of cards that I was so excited to make, but didn't quite fulfill my expectations. I have to learn to embrace imperfection...hard to do. Anyway, my cards are filled with Tim Holtz stamps from Stamper's Anonymous in a toile type pattern in red and blue. My house it filled with Christmas toile items during the season, and I absolutely love it.
Using images (outside per the toile look) from seven stamp sets, I planned out my pattern, and thought I would just repeat it until this 12x12 piece of Ranger's Specialty Stamping Paper was all covered.
I stamped the images in Wendy's Red Geranium Archival, and dried the paper thoroughly with a heat tool and left it out all night to dry. I loved the red so much that I decided to do a blue as well, and used a combination of Cobalt and Cornflower Blue Archival. My pattern did not repeat like I wanted it to, because I couldn't get the images to fit correctly, so I just filled in with the images that worked...oh well, I still liked it.
I trimmed down the paper to size for my cards and found out that the red smeared a little. So I dried again and again, but still had some smudge. I think I must have used too much ink, and I did reink the pad before I started. I will keep that in mind for next time. The blue did not smear, and I didn't reink those pads, so that is why I think I had the problem on the red. So to alleviate the smearing and so the embossing powder wouldn't stick to the red, I pounced on an antistatic embossing bag of powder, and that worked well. I stamped and embossed the 'Merry Christmas' with Jet Black and Black Sparkle Embossing Powder.
Tim has such a great selection of papers from his last too Christmas Stash pads, so I selected various plaids for the backgrounds. I also added a strip and bow of black velvet.

A Christmas Story Lamp Card

I'm back, and this time with the first set of Christmas cards for this season, and boy did I have fun with these. My favorite comical Christmas movie is probably A Christmas Story, and when Wendy Vecchi released the No Ring Art stamp set from Stamper's Anonymous, my first thought was the Christmas leg lamp using her sexy legs stamp. Enjoy, and I'll be back tomorrow.
I gathered all the Wendy goods and planned out my cards.
I stamped the 'this side up' in Red Geranium Archival from Ranger and Wendy, and stenciled in the Fragile with Fern Green.
I covered up the words from above with sticky note, and then stamped the background stamp over in Jet Black.
I mounted the card onto blue cardstock and then the card base, and added Wendy's Washi Tape across the top and bottom. I inked the edges of everything with Tree Branch Archival.
I inked over the Mat Minis with Leaf Green and then Fern Green, and then stamped the coordinating door over the trim.
Using more Mixed Media Cardstock, I inked over it with Sky Blue Blendable Dye Ink and misted with water for a wintry sky look. Then I stenciled in the tree several times with Fern Green and dried really well. I stamped the Pin Point Dots in Sky Blue and embossed with White Embossing Powder for snow. Then I trimmed the paper down to fit behind the windows and adhered them.
I inked over the trim  and lamp shade Mat Minis with Dandelion and inked the edges with Tree Branch. I added Antique Linen Distress Paint from Tim Holtz in the center of the shades and let that dry. Then I drew in the lines on the shades with a gold Pitt Pen. I also inked in the rectangle lamp bases with Watering Can Archival.
I stamped the legs onto Specialty Stamping Paper and embossed them with Clear Powder, and cut one leg off for the lamp.
I gave the shade and leg more shading with Pitt Pens, and misted the shade with Pearl Mica Mist. I added the trim around the shade, and cut off the extra length of fringe. Than I attached the shade to the leg with foam tape.
I adhered the window, table top, and lamp base to the card, and then added a layer of Gloss Multi Medium to the window for a glass look.
I inked in the leaves and berried, and stamped the coordinating images. I cut the leaves and berries apart so I would have two parts.
I stamped and embossed the 'merry' sentiment with Clear and Jet Black, cut it out and mounted onto blue cardstock. I typed out the 'and bright' with a dymo, and added the sentiments onto the cards. I added the holly and used Stickles to highlight the berries and washi tape.
