12 Tags of 2016 Remix - May

Hello All! Thanks for all the comments on my last post. Today, I have my May tag for Tim's 12 Tags of 2016 Remix. I have really enjoyed seeing all the takes you all have done as well. It's always so inspiring to me. I love that he combined the August, 2014 tag with the May, 2015 tag. Those were my favorites from those years, and it was hard for me to decide were to start to create a remix from those. I had to really think about were I wanted to go with this. That is the beauty of doing the tags, it challenges you and keeps the techniques fresh in your mind so you will use them more often. Plus, it helps you to revisit the stash, and play with it again, as well as mix it up with new goods. I love that!
I love the Winged Things stamp duo sets from Tim and Stamper's Anonymous. I don't get to use them often enough, and I thought the girl would be great on this tag. I used the mini Honeycomb stencil too, since there were so many roses, and bees might be around! I also rubbed Wendy's Sunflower Archival over the honeycomb so it wouldn't get lost in all the Distress Spray Stain.
I wanted a few parts of the girl to really stand out, so I stamped her on some woodgrain thin paper from my stash, and cut out the images I wanted to layer on my tag. I stamped a few more for future use as well. After I made the flowers with Distress Core'dinations, I stamped on those with the new Newsprint, and then made lots and lots of roses. They are addicting. I needed a few more before all was said and done, and so I made more in a darker red, but no stamping that time. I had the bee charm in my stash. When it came time for the lace, I thought a piece would look good as an apron for her. The stitching on top is my favorite part. Oh how my sewing machine could use a good cleaning!

Sorry there were so many photos. I couldn't get the detail I wanted, and now I shake so much. What's up with that?!!
I'm off today to The Crafty Scrapper for classes this weekend. If you are in the area, we have a few spots left. Until next time!!!
