12 Tags of 2015 - July

It's nearing the end of the month...already...time flies! So here is my take on Tim's July tag for 12 Tags of 2015. I am loving all the entries too...so many different takes for endless inspiration.
Since I let the fourth go by, I decided to go with other images. I thought about the new City Scapes, but that had already been done. I thought about flowers...again done. Then I thought about Crazy Birds, but I couldn't make them fit right, so I went with butterflies.
I love the roses on the Wallflower Paper, and decided to use the Vellum version as my tag background. It was hard to cover it up.
I used two stamp sets for the butterflies.
I love how easy Distress Markers make watercoloring!
I colored the Rosettes and metal pieces with Alcohol Ink. I love the transformation of the roses with the leaves. I also adhered the larger Rosette to the Hoop Pin with Glossy Accents. It seems very sturdy.
Although I loved the way the ribbon came out with the Distress Markers, I didn't think it was dark enough for the tag, so I misted over it with Peeled Paint Distress Spray, and the striped pattern still can be seen...love that!

Enjoying Art With Art Parts!!!

Hey hey hey!!! Hope y'all are having a good day! I sure am, because I got to play with Wendy Vecchi's Art Parts recently, even though I am ashamed to say it's been awhile...yikes! I love them so much...they are my legos! So, I put some together to make a little something for my desk, and I used polka dots on it, which qualifies it to be entered into Wendy's Make Art Challenge for the month of July. If you haven't joined in the fun over there, do, as there are prizes to be won, and inspiration abounds!
I laid out all the Art Part pieces I wanted to use before hand to get a feel for how this should go together.
I used the ATC Ticket piece for the base of the table. I had several wood knobs in the stash for the legs. I covered these first with Gold Embossing Paste, let it dry, and then with Crackled Paste.
Once dry, I inked the pieces with Archival, glued them together, and then misted them with Walnut Stain Distress Spray Stain to seep into all the cracks.
These were inked with Cornflower Blue and embossed with the same color powder.
I mixed Fern Green and Frosted Crystal powders to emboss this leaf and the stem of the flower.  The Frosted Crystal deepens the color and makes it matte.
Once inked with Orange Blossom, I poured Orange Marmalade, Fern Green, and Frosted Crystal powders onto this, and then inked it again with Buttercup.
I used Wendy's Marbled Embossing Powder technique for the main flower. First Buttercup Ink and Powder, then Orange Marmalade, then Red Geranium. So cool!
I stamped some pieces with the Script Stamp in Red Geranium.
I stamped the rest of the pieces with Potting Soil and the Polka Dots Stamp.
I altered Wendy's Blossom Bucket with Walnut Stain Paint...I didn't want it black... and added back the gold on the top to highlight the star. I used Multi Medium to join everything together, as well as used a ruler to make sure everything was lined up straight.

Enjoy making Art everyone!!!
