R U 2012

I have to admit that in the last month I have had some yucky things going on in my personal life. I have had a tragic death in my family, my mother is undergoing tests for breast cancer, which she has already had once, and the whole phone thing just made it worse (I am not looking for sympathy as I have a point here). I have been feeling a little down and Mr. Mojo was on the down low as well, BUT THEN....I started to remember I'm going to Ranger U, and a large beacon shined for me again and reeled me back to happy land! I decided to focus on this and kick the yucky feelings out, and not surprisingly Mr. Mojo came back for a visit! I started thinking I needed something I could look at all the time that reminded me of this, so I made a little something to transport me back to happy land, that pays homage to this fulfilled dream of mine.
I also designed this around a few challenges. Simon Says Stamp & Show has a challenge of "Inspiration: Studio 490", Sunday Stamper's challenge is "transport", and at the Everything Wendy Vecchi Yahoo Group, the fortnightly challenge is "hinges" from Wendy's Book 3 pg. 25.
I painted Large Watch Art Parts with gold paint dabber.
I sanded the edges of everything then inked them with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
I stamped the car, truck, and ink Art Parts with Jet Black Archival using the coordinating stamps. I inked them with Walnut Stain. I also stamped a smaller ink bottle and a box of wax crayons onto kraft paper using Jet Black Archival. The pointed hand was stamped with the Artist definition image.
I cut a circle using plastic mirror. I wanted to be able to see myself when I read the sentiments...I'm weird I know. I stamped Wendy's Queen of Art in Jet Black Archival.
I stamped the letter image over the Queen in Sepia Archival, but using a paper mask over the queen to keep her image safe.
I stamped the sentiments on the door in Jet Black, adhered the mirror, then attached the hinge. I added all the other elements, embellishments, and chain with charm.

Supplies:
From My Stash: chain, wooden dowel, chipboard letters, scrap kraft paper, snaps, hinge, and a pair of my mini Tim scissors

A Hoping Englishman

Happy Wednesday crafting peeps! Here is a finished out tag I created from Tim's Creative Chemistry 101 Day 6 technique of stamping with Distress Markers, that I thought was perfect for the Blogger's Challenge of "birds".  This sentiment from Artistic Outpost's new release Quote & Quoteables is perfect for Tim's Englishman with something on his mind!
