Frilly and Funkie!!!

Hey everyone...great news here! The uber talented Linda Coughlin, of the Funkie Junkie is hosting a brand new challenge blog called Frilly and Funkie! It is aimed at those of us who love Grunge, who love Vintage, who love Shabby Chic, and who love Punk! And can you believe this? Linda has asked me to be on the Funkie part of the Design Team! I am so stoked, honored, and humbled!
All of the challenges are fortnightly, or two weeks long, except the first which will be a week. The first challenge starts on March 28th, so amble on over there and sign up for posts so you don't miss any of the fun, and grab our badge. All winners will receive gorgeous product from Linda's Zibbet store "The Funkie Junkie's Boutique", and you can grab her badge as well. She carries the most unique embellies and materials ever. Not only are these beautiful products priced below MSRP, but if you use this coupon code MARCH10, you will receive an additional 10% discount.
And...as a bonus to all of you out there, on the 28th when we have our first challenge, we will announce a random drawn winner out of all those who visited every single blog (listed at F&F) and left a comment.  The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to the Funkie Junkie Boutique.
By the way, instead of pictures of ourselves we are using avatars, so when you see this spunky, spicy, and fun little dancer (OH...I SO WISH!!!) it's me!
So don't forget to leave a comment on each DT's blog so you will be in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate!
I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!

On The Texas Road Again!

Happy Spring Saturday everyone crafty! I am the hostess again this week at Our Creative Corner. First, I would like to say "WOW!" The entries from last week's "Bingo" challenge were fantastic, and it will be hard for me to choose a winner, even though there are so few entries.  Thank you so much for participating!
Spring has sprung yet again! It's time to take that annual well deserved Spring Break vacation. Where would your postcard come from? Make whatever paper craft you like and show us your "spring break vacation destination". Remember to include the name of your destination somewhere on your project.
I decided to make a postcard of my Spring Break destination, and I'd love to tell you I visited one of the places above, but alas I cannot tell a lie. I spent last week on the road (Interstate 20 to be exact) to several wonderful Texas destinations...well sort of. We had a hockey tournament in Dallas and Fort Worth, and a golf tournament in Lubbock, then back home. Once home if was back on the highway to tote kids to and fro for their entertainment purposes only...for sure not my own. However, Hubby did take me to a fantastic stamping store in Dallas (Plano actually), called Stamp Asylum, so I guess I had a wonderful break! The nice thing about traveling around Texas during this time of year though, is definitely the scenery. The blue bonnets are just starting to emerge, and by next month, a sea of purplish blue will be able to seen all around our roadways.
If you are looking for more inspiration or just wanting to look, please visit my fellow OCC Design Team Members, or this week's Guest Designer, Carla Suto.

I had two pieces of this bluebonnet postcard. I adhered them together on cardstock leaving a border. I stamped the tread image in Jet Black Archival, making it roadway instead.
I stamped all my other images in Jet Black Archival, on this Texas fact sheet, cut them out, and inked the edges in Black Soot. I replaced the 66 in the Route image with 20 using Thickers, that I first inked in Black Soot. I added the Texas plates to the car, then the welcome sticker.

I am also submitting this tag to The Artistic Stamper's monthly challenge of "travel" ;0)!
Supplies:
From My Stash: Texas ephemera (bluebonnets, fact sheet, sticker), ivory cardstock

I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon, and here's hoping you have a wonderful weekend with beautiful Spring weather!
