Tim Holtz Stamptember 2021 - Magic of Christms Card

It's Simon Says Stamp Stamptember time!!! That means a super special stamp set from Tim Holtz and Stamper's Anonymous, and this Christmas fun set also comes with a mask and stencil! I adore this set and LOVE LOVE LOVE the Santa and Sleigh. I made a quick and fun card using the set and lots of Ranger ink goodies. Enjoy!

Cut White Heavystock to 4.75 x 6.25 inches for card front. Place the card front into the stamp platform, as well as the trees on the left side bottom, the cloud in upper right, and swirly stars right middle and secure by closing the lid. Rub anti-static pouch over card front. Stamp the images in Distress Embossing Ink, and then pour White Embossing Powder over and heat emboss. Stamp trees on sticky note and cut out for masking. Place mask on trees, and move tree stamp over to the right. Move cloud above left side trees, and remove the stars as you are finished with those. Close platform to secure. Stamp in Embossing Ink, remove mask,  and heat emboss with white powder. Save the mask for later. Remove all stamps, and then place Santa and sleigh stamp in upper left corner. Stamp in Black Soot Archival and heat emboss with Clear Powder. You can't see the white in the pic, but all the images are there and embossed.

Gather Moon Mask and place solid Moon Mask in upper left corner over the Santa and stick down with tape or Sticky Grid if need be. Ink over the moon and scene lightly with Speckled Egg Distress Ink with an Ink Blending Tool until a soft nice sky area is seen and now you can see where all the white embossing is. Remove the moon mask and place the open moon mask over the moon and ink in with the Speckled Egg, trying not to get any on Santa and the sleigh.

Add Prize Ribbon Distress Ink straight from the pad onto the silicon mat and lightly mist with water. Pick this up with the Broad Water Brush and color in all the sky area, being careful not to color in of the images. Do the same with the Speckled Egg pad coloring in the clouds, and the Iced Spruce Pad coloring in the trees. Use Distress Crayons to color in Santa, the sleigh, glove, bag and deer. Add some Rustic Wilderness to deepen the trees. Let this first layer dry a bit.

Use a detail gold paint pen to add gold trim to the sleigh and straps on the deer and bag. Add another darker layer of Distress Crayons to the images. Add another dark layer of Prize Ribbon over the sky area and get it as dark as you can.

Lay the Moon Mask and tree mask place and cover up the main parts of the sleigh and deer, and then lightly mist Snow Flurries Distress Mica Stain over sky area, after shaking it well. Clean off Moon Mask and let this dry a few minutes, and clean nozzle of Mica Stain. Lightly dry the card front with a heat tool.

Pounce an anti static pouch over the bottom right of the card to make this part cleaner and easier. Using the sentiment from the Stamptember Stamp Set, stamp it at the bottom right corner of the card front using Distress Embossing Ink and heat emboss with Gold Powder. Without covering anything up this time, lightly mist the whole card with Pearl Mica Spray. Dry slightly and then add two sided tape to the back.  Cut and fold a kraft card base to 5 x 6.5 inches. Cut gold Metallic Kraftstock to 4 7/8 x 6 3/8 inches and mount onto the kraft with two sided tape. Mount the card front to this with the tape. In the edges of the card with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

Stamper's Anonymous Christmas 2021 - Holiday Things Christmas Tree Card

Hello Everyone and welcome to a Christmas post! This time it's Tim Holtz Stamper's Anonymous goods. Oh the new stamps are so great! I hope you were able to catch the Live yesterday with all the amazing amazing samples...just a WOW!!! I had fun with this first make, but I have to admit that I redid and started over a few times. When you are stamping this much...I used all 13 images on the set to make this tree...it's a lot of stamping and masking and planning. Since I already have it laid out for you though, you should be able to breeze right through and make this card in no time if you choose to. Enjoy!

Cut Ivory Heavystock to 4 x 9 inches, and place in a stamp platform.  Lay out the first five stamps (star, tree, santa, sleigh, candle) as shown from the Holidays Things set on the paper to see the placement. Starting with Santa, stamp him in Black Soot Archival, and then stamp him again without reinking (to clean) onto a sticky note for masking. Cut him out, and place this onto the stamped Santa. Place all the other stamps onto the platform and secure them. (NOTE: It would be a good idea to keep the stamps in place just in case after you color them in, that you might need to restamp them in a darker color to help them pop.) Stamp the sleigh in Hickory Smoke Archival under the Santa so that it looks like his feet are on the sleigh, and make a mask of it.  Stamp the candle in Hickory Smoke below the sleigh. Stamp the tree above Santa in Peeled Paint Archival, and make a mask of it. Then stamp the star above that in Hickory Smoke, and make a mask of it.

Stamp the next four images (and masks) the wreath in Hickory Smoke, and globe and both branches in Vintage Photo Archival. Remember it's best to leave the stamps on the platform for restamping, but if you only have only platform (yes I am lucky to have a few) then stamp and color in with Distress Crayons and restamp, then add the new stamps after.

Stamp the snowflake in Faded Jeans Archival and the deer in Hickory Smoke, with masks.

Finally, stamp the pinecone and juniper branch in Vintage Photo Archival with masks.

Use all the masks and stamp the corner of the pine branch and fill in all the areas in between the stamped images to look like a tree, using Peeled Paint Archival Ink.

Color in the images with Distress Crayons and a Detail Water Brush, using the silicon mat as your palette, working lighter and then drying and adding more color to the shaded areas for depth.  I used Faded Jeans, Festive Berries, Salvaged Patina, Twisted Citron, Hickory Smoke, Iced Spruce, Brushed Corduroy, Tattered Rose, Antique Linen, Mustard Seed, Gathered Twigs, Picket Fence, Crackling Campfire, Rustic Wilderness, and Pine Needles crayons. When you like the look of everything, restamp any images that might need more definition if you haven't already. For example, I stamped the wreath originally in Hickory Smoke Archival, but after coloring in I thought it needed to be darker so I restamped in Black Soot Archival.

Taking a piece of computer paper, fold in half and in half again, and cut around in an oval type shape, and open up. Fit the paper (now mask) over the card to see if it covers up the tree area leaving a small border. If it doesn't continue to cut until it does, and if it does grab the thinnest pattern of Stripes Shifter Layering Stencil. Lay the oval mask over the tree area leaving a slight border and lay the stencil over this and secure with tape. Ink if the first color over the stripes, Faded Jeans. Move the stencil over and ink in again continuing the first pattern of stripes until the ink stripes cover the card. If need be (like I did), shift the stencil down to continue coloring in the stripes. Clean the stencil. Pick up the stencil, and cover the first Faded Jeans stripes (shifting) and ink in the new pattern of stripes with Vintage Photo Archival. Move the stencil over and continue the pattern, all the while remembering to keep the oval mask on.

To give the scene a slightly more vintage feel, ink around the borders with Antique Linen Distress Ink, carrying the ink into the oval area. Ink the edges of the card with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  Use Twisted Citron and Rustic Wilderness Distress Crayons to color in the Christmas tree branches a little for some more depth, using the water brush. Use the Tarnished Brass Crayon and color over the star, candle holder, deer, and pinecones for some subtle sparkle.

Use a gold paint pen to draw lines on each side of the Faded Jeans stripes for more of a vintage wall paper look.  Cut and fold a kraft cardstock base to 4.25 x 9.25 inches, and a Gold Metallic Kraftstock piece to 4 1/8 x 9 1/8, and mount the gold to the kraft. Then mount the card front onto the card base using two sided tape. Ink the edges of the card base with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Add Twinkle Stickles to the snowflake, Lime Green to the juniper berries and the rest of the tree like ornaments. Add Xmas Red to the other berries and then more to the small tree and the rest of the tree like ornaments. Add dots of White Opal Liquid Pearls to Santa's suit trim. Finally, add Glossy Accents to the raised areas of the star, all the pinecones, the deer's eyes, Santa's spectacles, buckle, and boots, all the land areas on the globe, and then to the candle flame and candle holder. Let dry.
