CCC3 - Marbled Paints

Woohoo! Today is the day that the new Compendium of Curiosities III Challenge starts!!! It all begins with Paint Marbling!!! I hope you already have 'The Book' and are ready to roll so you can win some uber fabulous prizes donated by the ever generous Tim & Mario, and the first challenge's sponsor, Inspiration Emporium!!! You will have two weeks to complete this first challenge and link it up to the CC3Challenge site, and you can read all the rules here. Please visit every member of the Curiosity Crew for some gorgeous painty inspiration, and I hope this card gets your creative gears moving as well!
I decided to go with a card the first time out! I'm running short on cards, so you will probably be seeing a lot.
I first glued down a sheet of Melange Tissue Wrap onto some card to create the base for the the embellishments of my card.
I used Tim's technique for Paint Marbling on the Tissue Wrap.
I started cutting out the butterfly motif image and cut strips of the Tissue Wrap to use for the weaving pattern.
I also used Tim's technique on a Giant sized manilla tag, and then I laid out the strips and began to weave them into place.
I painted a piece of Crinkle Wrinkle as well, and then stamped on it. Metal embellishments, Stickles, and edge inking finished out the card. It was super simple.
I am so thrilled to be apart of the Curiosity Crew!  I hope you all join in on the fun, and that your hands get creatively inky soon!!!

Scribbly Birds!

Hello everyone!  First, I wanted to say thank you for all the birthday well wishes! My cup runneth over!!! I was so fortunate to be able to take a Dina Wakley class at the Collins Show last month, and if you care to take a look at the Scribbly Bird tags I made, please visit The Crafty Scrapper site. If you haven't gotten a chance to try her new line of products from Ranger, I suggest starting with these gorgeous Scribbly Birds stamps.

Be Curious!!!

Hello Crafty Peeps!!! "Be Curious" are the words written in my Compendium of Curiosities III Book, and are probably written in yours too if Tim Holtz autographed it for you!  When it comes to making Art, those words are essential. It's all trial and error sometimes, and if you are persistent, you discover a technique you will use and love forever!
It's almost time for Linda Ledbetter to start up the new series of challenges on her new blog, based on the new book! I am thrilled to announce that I was asked to be on the Curiosity Crew for the challenges along with some other fabulous Ranger girls...beyond thrilled actually! I hope you will join us every fortnight for the new challenges, starting Saturday, April 26th, and if you do, I wish you luck on being picked to win great prizes sponsored by Inspiration Emporium and The Funkie Junkie Boutique!!!
Stay curious, make Art, and I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!

My Weekend & Winners!!!

Hello everyone! My apologies for posting this a few days late! I had to attend my oldest son's golf tournament, and then my youngest son has been ill, so I haven't had time to post until today. I appreciate the patience! Before I get to the winners of all the loot, I wanted to show you some photos of my weekend at The Crafty Scrapper doing Make-n-Takes! There were over 100 people who participated, and 12 designers who taught gorgeous projects!
The wonderful thing about driving through Texas in April is seeing the millions of bluebonnets that engulf the roadways and pastures! I couldn't help but take photos! It's such a gorgeous sight!

Everyone was busy setting up their spaces for the Make-n-Take, and I was given a space big enough for seven people at a time.
We were all asked to bring a few projects that we had made to display by our booth.
Sadly, I forgot my phone on the day of the event, so I have no other pictures but these. I was able to teach 70 of the 100 people that attended in the six hour time slot. I am sorry to those of you who were not able to make the Notes and Collections Clipboard. There was quite a line each time it was time to move on, but aside from my fastest group that made the project in 15 minutes, most of the groups were longer. Next time I'll know to keep it much simpler, but I hope everyone enjoyed the day!

AND NOW, look at all this loot I scored while in New England and at the Collins Show...enough for three big winners!!!

The first winner to win this stack of loot is...
Number 29, Lizaveta Tsar'kova-Golofas, from the Ukraine.

A Challenge At The Crafty Scrapper!

Sometimes challenges are no fun! Sometimes challenges are super scary! But after we face them, we sometimes find they weren't so bad after all. No matter how big or small, a challenge is a challenge, right?!? Okay, so getting a couple of dozen of items in a baggie and told to create something using every single thing in it, isn't a life challenge, but it was scary a little bit!!! That is exactly what the the Design Team at The Crafty Scrapper was given to do! Here is mine...I know...a little different for me right? But, it was FUN!!!
As a quick mushy side note, I appreciate all your comments, even the ones when I post another blog! You guys are so special to me! I LOVE blog planet!!!!

I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!
