Hello All and welcome Newbies!!! The Funky good time is back this fortnight to bring you the Frilly & Funkie challenge, which happens to be our last challenge for 2012. Terry of Terry's 2 Dogs is hosting. Terry says, "Since this is the busiest time of the year, and my turn to entertain you all for the next challenge at Frilly and Funkie, I thought it would be nice to keep it simple with "Make It A Tag." Show us your tags in the Holiday Spirit celebrating Christmas or Winter. Maybe you even make your own gift tags or place setting tags. Whatever it is, just tag it!"
Inspiration comes with a leap and a bound from the other Design Team Members. Check out their goods!
Linda Coughlin - The Funkie Junkie
Marjie Kemper - She Who Stamps and Scraps
Teresa Kline - Paperie Blooms
Terry Horrall - Terry's Work In Progress
Sue Carrington - Stamping Sue Style
Rebecca Deeprose - Paper Primrose
This is hard to write, but this is also my last project with F&F, and I'm singing the Funkie Town Blues about it, but I am venturing on to new creative endeavors. My time with Linda (A definite Mentor for me.) and this team has been the best experience ever, and I cherish their friendship and all that they have taught me with their amazing talents. Thank you Linda for helping me to grow with this thing I call Art! Thank you team for being so supportive, kind, and so full of creative knowledge. I will miss you. Alas, my favorite quote, "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." - Seneca.
So...sniffle sniffle...I wanted to leave Frilly & Funkie with a teeny tiny bang and it's been long over due, but I thought I would bring you a quick video tutorial showing you the process for using Ranger's Holographic and Tinsel Embossing Powders, as seen on my tag, although I had the most horrible time trying to photograph this to show you the full realm of color on the Wise Men. This do not due this tag justice.
Also, sorry for the video quality and the sound especially. I had the worst time getting it to upload, and had to change file types several times to no avail. So after a computer change, I was able to upload it, but after all the changes the quality flew out of creative window! Live and learn!!!

The card and tag are one of the most surreal background/foreground ideas I've seen in a long, long time. You really did knock this one out of the park, my friend!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! This tag is stunning, Anita! Thanks so much for taking the time to make the video! Off to watch...
ReplyDeleteAnita, you surprised me again! Beautiful tags and funny camels! I especially liked the Christmas star. This is the biblical theme? As for the quality of photos and video do not worry, it's all true, and I'm not always successful photograph their work. Always must be processed them in a computer.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you've set this scene with your hills and houses in the distance... it's fantastic! Not to mention the neat embossing. Very cool. Will have to come back and watch the video another time as I'm chasing my own tail these days. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love the shimmery effects and what a great design with so much texture! Beautiful Christmas projects! I want to say how much it has been a pleasure to be on the same team with you and I wish you the best in all that you do! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWow it is so amazing card for Christmas. I love it. So beautiful elements: shining hauses, camels and angel. I also love your display of the video which you are demonstrating how to make such an incredible card.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Asia :)
These are so cool Anita! I love, love, love what you did here! Sad to see you leave the team!
ReplyDeleteThese projects are amazing. I love the textures and gorgeous glitter against the black. So cool how you cut apart the town scene and stacked the houses. You always find a way to make tools work for you...so creative. I really enjoyed your video. Glad you persevered to share it with us. I'll miss your Funky Junkiness but look forward to whatever you're doing next. It's an inspiring journey you are on :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous tags Anita, love the background and will have to go back and investigate further. It's been great working with you and I shall make sure I visit often ! Have a wonderful Christmas and very best wishes for the New Year. Sue C x
ReplyDeleteWow what a great technique! The tag and card look amazing! I have the holographic embossing powder, so I'll definitely experiment with it and watch your video some more during my attempts :).

Awesome tags. They are a definitely a way out with a bang. I haven't used the holographic embossing powder but looks like something I need to try.
ReplyDeleteWonderful as always Anita with fabulous special effects. I will definitely miss you from Frilly and Funkie! Nicola x
ReplyDeleteOh, oh... the end of an era. I knew about Marjie - but you too!! Well, you won't be getting rid of me as an avid follower and - I hope - crafty friend... so it would be silly to say I'll miss you, but F&F certainly will, and it won't seem the same without you! Amazing finishing project... I"ll have to come back for the video tomorrow, as it's past my bedtime - but for now I'll just say, wow, and thank you so much for all the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes on your new creative endeavors!

Wonderful depth and dimension showcased with sparkle! Your tutorial gave me a better understanding of the embossing tinsels. Can't wait to play with them.
ReplyDeleteGreat tute! Love the black gesso and the different embossing powders!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous sparkly creations Anita! Sorry to hear you are leaving F&F but onwards and upwards, as they say... The video is brilliant, so much attention to detail - loved it! Hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteSo much wonderful detail and such a great project ~ I LOVE it, it's beautiful!!

OK Anita, now you are really spoiling us. A video and pretties. Girl you have out done your self. Will watch it several times and thanks so much for all your creativity that you share.
ReplyDeleteYour tag and card are amazing! I enjoyed your video with a cup of tea and didn't want it to end. You have a great way of teaching. I have added the tinsel powders and hologram powder to my shopping list for tomorrow. I have not tried either (hard to believe, I thought I had a stocked craft room..ha..) Can you over heat the hologram powder? How do you know when "enough" heat has been applied since the colors change? (Does that make sense??) Looking forward to seeing what new adventures await you in 2013! Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful, Anita!!!! And a great video!!!
ReplyDeleteYou said you would go out on a bang and that's so true! Love how you've given us the whys as well as the hows for these embossing powders - it makes all the difference.
ReplyDeleteYou will be sorely missed from the F&F team but not from Blogland I hope. May your crafty adventures be thrilling and productive. Hugs, Jenny x
I'm missing words, your tag is breathtaking. Thanks for the video.
