More Tim Holtz Stencil Binders

I'm back again this month, shocking! Thank you so much for all the visits and comments lately...I appreciate it immensely.  Today, I have another set of stencil binders to house my ever growing stash of Tim Holtz Collection Stencils from Stamper's Anonymous. I love functional art. It's nice to have what you need in an organized way and when it's decorated it makes me happy. The Sizzix Colorize Animals from Tim are super fun to put together as well. ***Disclaimer: Please excuse my disgusting sense of humor on the Mini Stencil Binder. I adore the Charmin Bears commercial...you know the one with "My hinny's clean.", and since the shortage of toilet paper I really have come to love the commercials. So I recreated the Charmin Bear and added a little silly wording to go with the theme, and some napkin for the toilet paper. NO REAL TP WAS USED TO CREATE THIS! ;0)
The two on the left are my older stencil binders (larger here, smaller here) that were quite full, so I made the two on the right to house the rest of the regular and small size, and I split them up between everyday and holiday varieties.
To get the correct size I needed, I trimmed down chipboard, #12, and #10 sized tags for the covers.
I have been following along and sometimes playing along with Tim's weekly demos. I love playing along when I can, and this day was all about Distress products. I used Distress Spray Stains and Distress Paints to create the backgrounds for my covers.
I used more paint to stencil in the foliage for the large covers. I let the paint go under the stencil, so after it dried, I used a white pen to outline the image. LOVE this. I also painted the edges of the chipboard covers with different reds and oranges.
I used more stencils to create the sun using paint, and the trim with wording using Picket Fence Distress Ink and stencils.
Then came the fun part...making the animals. I used black, gray, and white cardstock for the main parts, and a tag from the demos to make the colorful stripes and spots.
Then I added black silhouette flowers from the Wildflower Stems 1 and 2.
For the bear Theodore, I repeated again, but I didn't do a stenciled background. Instead I kept it simple with wildflowers and Remnant Rubs.

Wendy Vecchi Stamp, Die, and Stencil Storage Binder

Hello everyone! Every year after Creativation, the Crafty Cave overflows with new goods launched at the show, and once I've organized I can finally play. This week, I've surrounded myself with some new goods from Ranger and Wendy Vecchi...delightful new product (yay more flowers!) and finally some dies!  Wendy has come out with a collection of value packs that contain acrylic stamps with coordinating dies and stencils, so I needed to figure out a way to store them. And with the a little help from Sizzix, here's what I came up with, plus it's functional Art!
Sizzix has all sorts of sizes of excellent quality storage envelopes for dies, so I used the 6 7/8 x 5 inch size to store Wendy's sets. I punched a hole in the corner, and added the label from the package so I know the name and product number for reference. They fit perfectly in Wendy's Stencil Binder. You can see my other binder in the upper left corner that I use to store all her stencils.
To decorate the binder I started out by using White Gesso to cover the surfaces so colors pop better.
I used the scalloped circle to ink in a sunrise using Wendy's Blendable Dye Inks. However, the Gesso made the surface so slick for these water based inks, and it didn't want to stick like I wanted to, but I had another plan that you will see below.
I inked in the sky with the inks, using sticky notes to separate the sky from the land. I also stamped in Wendy's new Register Background Stamp using her Archival. Then I rubbed on some Perfect Card Adhesive over the sun to keep that ink in place.
For the grass area, I inked over it with the Dye Inks and stamped over it with the Tiny Floral Background Stamp in Archival.
I added Wendy's new Washi Tape to the bottom and between the sky and grass. I inked the edges of the binders with Jet Black Archival. To make sure the rest of the ink didn't move I sealed the binders with Workable Fixatif...that was the trick and worked perfectly, as well as gave a nice sheen. I stamped the tree from the Art From Home stamp set from Wendy and Stamper's Anonymous using Fern Green Archival, but it just wasn't dark enough for me, so I stamped it again using Tim's Distress Paints, over and over again until I liked it. I painted in the branches and trunks.
I inked over the house from her coordinating  Mat Minis, using the Dye Ink, and went around the windows with a white pen. I added white vellum to the back for the windows, and filled them in with Glossy Accents. I made steps...sort of...with more washi tape, and added shadows with a black pen. Then I added on the fence pieces. I LOVE all her Mat Minis!
I used three of the new sets of Stamps, Dies, and Stencils for the flowers in the pots, die cutting them from Perfect Cardstock and inked and stamped them in. I added more embellishment with the pens, Perfect Adhesive, and Enamel Accents to finish it off.

Mini Layering Stencil Binder

It seems forever since I blogged, and I've made literally 20 projects in the last month, but I just haven't gotten around to blogging them...bad blogger!!! Mostly because I have been cleaning and purging my crafty cave, and it looks so awesome now...pics later. Anyway, here is a stencil binder to house my new Tim Holtz Mini Layering Stencils to go along with my larger one, using the new Lady Rose from Tim and Stamper's AnonymousThe Crafty Scrapper is carrying both binder sizes in the store if you interested in purchasing one.
I misted manila tags cut to size, with Antique Linen Distress Spray Stain.
I added some stenciling with a few of the mini stencils using Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.
I added some stamping, and then used a Workable Fixative to hold all my Distress goodies in place. Normally, I would use Distress Micro Glaze, but since the area was bigger I used the spray.
I inked the binders with Aged Mahogany and stamped around them.
I stamped the images in Jet Black and heat emboss them using Clear Powder, and then attached the tags to the binder.
Then I water colored in the images with a Water Brush and Distress Markers, and followed with the sentiment and embellishments. I colored the Heirloom Roses with Alcohol Ink.
That's it for today. Tomorrow, I am off to Houston for the International Art Materials Association annual show (NAMTA). I'll be demoing Ken Oliver's Color Burst in the Canvas Corp. Booth. I am so excited, and I'll try to snap photos for my Facebook Page, but you all know how bad I am at doing that...yikes...I will try. Thanks for all the support and encouragement everyone!!!
