Mixed Media Ink Palette Butterfly Card

Hello all! I hope this post finds all of you well. I can't believe it's already May...time is flying by too fast this year, and I've been lax in posting, sorry. Today, I have another card that I made for the Ranger Ink booth at Creativation this year, using the Tim Holtz Mixed Media Ink Palette with those four yummy vintage colors.  Enjoy!
Using Ink Blending Tools, ink over a piece of Distress Heavystock with all the colors from the palette except Black Soot. Ink the edges as well, and then mist and flick rubbing alcohol over the card to create water looking marks...Archival Ink reacts with alcohol like Distress Ink does with water.
Stamp over the card with the Birch background stamp using Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain from the palette.
Mist the card with Tarnished Brass Distress Mica Spray, and then mount on black cardstock. Have a kraft colored card for the base ready to go.
Die cut the Sizzix Wildflowers with a brown Distress Cardstock, and the Honeycomb Frameworks with burlap from the Textured Surfaces. Use a Sanding Grip to shabby up the Wildflowers...carefully with tearing them...and adhere both on the card.
Use a Hickory Smoke Distress Marker to add shadow to the Wildflowers to make them pop a little more.
Stamp the butterfly from the Perspective Stamp Set from Tim and Stamper's Anonymous, onto more Heavystock using the Black Soot. Ink over the butterfly with Vintage Photo on the outer edges of the wings. It will look messy, but trust me.
Ink over the whole butterfly with lots of Mustard Seed Distress Ink, and dry with a heat tool thoroughly. Stamp over the butterfly image again, making sure to stay in the previous lines, with Black Soot, and pour Clear Embossing Powder over it. Emboss it with a heat tool, and then cut (or die cut) the butterfly out. Use a white pen to highlight the lines on the butterfly, for a monarch look.
Ink over a piece of Crinkle Ribbon with Walnut Stain Archival, and tie a bow around the card. Adhere the card to the kraft base card.
Use stars, arrows, and numbers from the Christmas set of Gilded Accents, and rub them onto the card. Just because this is not a Christmas card doesn't mean you can't use the Remnant Rubs ;0)! Attach the butterfly with Multi Medium.
Color the star and jump rings with Archival Ink, by rubbing them over the pads directly. Dry them with a heat tool, and attach the star to the ribbon. Add the sentiments from Small Talk to kraft cardstock, cut them out, and attach them to the card.

Thanks for looking and for all the comments. I'll be back soon! Until then, be your beautiful self!!!

Happy Easter Distress Paint Card

Hello and Happy Easter week everyone! Today, I have an Easter Card loaded with lots of Tim Holtz Distress Paint from Ranger, that was also featured in the Ranger booth at Creativation this year, and some wonderful Sizzix dies and coordinating crazy stamps from Tim and Stamper's Anonymous.  I wish you all the most blessed Easter and Holy week!
I added Distress Paint directly to the craft sheet, misted it with water, and dredged a piece of Distress Heavystock through it, and dried with a heat tool.
I did the same as above for a number 8 heavystock tag, except I used Peacock and Picket Fence.
I stamped the solid eggs with Distress Paint...using paint on stamps is the only time I clean my stamps, fyi.
I added paint in a small amount directly to an Ink Blending Tool Foam and stenciled in the splatters. When I was ready for a new color, I rinsed the old paint away from the foam with water, and began again.
I splattered more paint on everything using a water brush and picking paint up directly from the craft sheet. More on the bird below.
I used Picket Fence paint with the foam on (LOVE that we have a choice between the foam and flip tops!) and just made circles onto the tag. Then I misted the pieces with Distress Mica Sprays.
I stamped the bird twice, and all his parts and extra bits with Jet Black Archival onto Water Color Cardstock.
I painted in the bird with more Distress Paint and the detailed Water Brush. Painting with the water brush gives a watercolored look. Then I die cut all the pieces out, layered them up, and then splattered more paint on them.
I painted in some of the scroll work on the Mini Cabinet Card with Picked Raspberry, and inked over the edges.
I added Twisted Citron to the craft sheet, misted water in it, and dredged through Crinkle Ribbon. I dried it while crumpling it up, and tied a cheaters bow through the tag. Then I assembled all my piece on the card, and stitched around it two times.
