12 Tags of 2016 Remix - January

I've waited until the last minute...again...to get my January tag done for Tim's new 12 Tags of 2016 "Remix". Isn't it such a cool idea to do a revamp of the old tags so we can get into the techniques again and refresh?!! He's a brilliant mind that one!!! So, I've dug through my old tags to refresh my memory as well, and here is my November tag from 2013, and my January tag from 2014.  At first, I thought I would just combine my two tags, but since the November tag had leaves and acorns, I didn't think I would use that theme for a New Year's tag...right?!! So, I started playing with the techniques, as he intended, and came up with this.
It's not my favorite...can you believe that? I LOVE the background, and that is one of my favorite techniques, BUT I don't think the numbers were a good choice for the chalk technique. Oh well...live and learn.
Once I did the Industrious Metal background, I wanted a bit more color, so I dropped Ranger's Alcohol Ink on some of the sanded places. Then I inked over the raised bits with some Wendy Tree Branch Archival. On the chalk portions, I wanted a clean look around the border of each one so I used a Hickory Smoke and Festive Berries Distress Marker to define the edges of all the designs, hoping I would like it better. Yeah...not really. Then I mounted it onto Metallic Kraft Core.

Can you believe it's the end of the month?!! There is so much to do and so little time! Off to work now!!!

CHA 2016 - Recap 5 (The People and Booths)

Hello! Sorry to be late with this post. I slipped away to Plano, Texas, for the Stamp Show and help in the Stamper's Anonymous booth over the weekend, and forgot to do this post. Here is the last recap on my trip to CHA, and some of the sights and people I met up with at the show.

The Idea-ology Booth

The booth is always a favorite for me with all the antiques, and of course a peek at all of Tim's new goods. The ladies who work it are a bonus! They are all a joy!

The Sizzix Booth

The Sizzix Booth is also another favorite! I LOVE all the samples in it, and got lucky to see Eileen in demo mode.

The Crafter's Workshop Booth
Cheryl did a great job working in the booth.

The Spellbinder's Booth

I had to go and cheer on Seth and Tammy, who introduced their new lines for Spellbinders. I loved all their samples.

The Impression Obsession Booth

I had to cheer on Yvonne as well. Her stamps are wonderful, and I especially love all the sentiments. Seth had his stamps on showcase as well.

Ken was so busy demoing all the new Color Bursts, and metallics.  I don't even think he saw me snap a photo.

Lyon Brand Yarn always has a very cool booth. I loved this ocean scene made all with yarn.

Marjie and I got to meet up for breakfast...finally.

The girls stopped by a lot while I was demoing to cheer me on! Thanks girls!!!!

That's all the photos I think I have of the show. I didn't have a lot of time to walk around. I'm sure you all are tired of recaps anyway. Until next time...I'm off to make my Tim tag.
