Time Does Fly

This fortnight has flown by! Not only is there a new challenge at Frilly & Funkie, but it's already the Funkie's turn to submit their designs! Where does the time go?
Linda Coughlin, of the Funkie Junkie is hosting this time, and she wants to see you "Get Crafty With Canvas". Linda says, "I love using textiles in my art, and canvas is such a fun and versatile fabric to use. You can die cut it, emboss it, dye it by spraying or dipping.  You can use it in its raw state, coat the reverse side with gesso or multi medium to prevent fraying, or use the sticky back kind.  You can stamp on it and make embellishments (flowers :) with it.  Oh, so many fun ways to use it in our art.  How are you going to use canvas for this challenge?"
So get going on this! You still have a week left to participate, before the time passes you by. If you need inspiration, here are several eye candy fillers for you.
Linda Coughlin - The Funkie Junkie
Marjie Kemper - She Who Stamps and Scraps
Teresa Kline - Paperie Blooms
Terry Horrall -  Terry's Work In Progress
Sue Carrington - Stamping Sue Style
Tammy Roberts - Paperie Sweetness
As you can probably guess, my project is about time, and how we choose to use it. If we could go back, boy would I do a couple of things differently...okay, several...but we can't. We have to learn from the past, and make a new and better go at the future. Time flies, so we have to be the best pilot that we can be!!!
I covered Grunge Board with Sticky Back Canvas that was cut into a square with a cut out center and onto a whole square that was cut a bit larger.
I pounced on Gold, Silver, and Pitch Black Alcohol Inks  to the cut out square, and painted the edges with Pitch Black Dabber. I distressed the clock face and hands with Pitch Black, Gold and Silver Dabbers, and then attached those to make a clock face, and onto the square they went, along with a gear.  By making the cut out, the brad that holds the hands together has more room and allows the hands to move more freely.  I added the handle plate and hinges that I found in the dollhouse section at a craft store. I covered the back with the clock face paper from Idea-ology.
The whole square was stained with Antique Linen Distress Stain and then misted with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls. Then I painted the edges with Pitch Black Dabber. I attached the door to the base with the hinges, and then added my computer generated and distressed sentiment. Wings finished it up.
For the tag, I used a piece of clock printed canvasy fabric that I purchased on Ebay. I gave it a thinned down coat of Gesso, let it dry, and then adhered it to a black tag. I reinforced the hole with some twill ribbon and an eyelet , and then stitched around the tag.
I used a Broad Tip Water Brush to add Antique Linen and Stormy Sky Distress Stains to the clock faces of the tag.
I traced the faces with metallic ink pens, and then gave the tag a mist of Perfect Pearls. I added the winged clock piece, some frayed natural canvas that was stamped with Stormy Sky Distress Ink using numbers, and I finished it off with some Idea-ology goodies.

I am submitting this tag to The Stamp Man's Challenge of "Precious Metals", and the Sunday Stamper's challenge of "Shiny", although it's hard to pick it up from the photos.

I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!
