Dylusions Perfect Splatter Video

Over at Frilly & Funkie, I am doing the Friday Focus this week and I wanted to highlight Ranger's Perfect Pearl Pigment Powders...say that 5 times! The technique of Dylusions Perfect Splatter uses them in a really cool way, and produces awesome results, so I thought I'd show you via video...again. This technique is from Dyan herself, whom I had the pleasure of learning from at Ranger U (my name is now listed...yay!!!). I could have played with tags all day with the all the different combinations a person could come up with...fab technique and an even fabber (new word?!?) lady!
I'm sort of getting the hang of editing videos, but for number three I didn't give you much viewing space on the screen...sorry. I really enjoy doing these though, and hope all of you like them and will reference them.

The Completed Tags:
This the example tag that I started with. I left it plain, so you could really see the effect.
This was the small tag I started with as well. I embossed it with Tim's Christmas Background, and highlighted the raised areas with Adirondack Snow Cap Pigment Ink. The Idea-ology metals were painted and enameled with UTEE. The tag was layered with cardstock and trimmings were added.
This was the bright cosmos tag. I embossed it with Tim's groovy swirls, and inked those raised areas with Adirondack Snow Cap Pigment Ink. The sentiment, also Tim's, was stamped on Specialty Stamping Paper with the special summer Distress Ink Picked Raspberry, and trimmings were added. It's so bright and fun!
This was the tiny tag I used to clean up with after the art journal tried to clean up. I embossed it with a leaf design from Sizzix, then inked the raised design with the summer special Distress Ink Mowed Lawn. Gorgeous silk lace and ribbon were added, along with a rosette. An Idea-ology Cash Key Charm hold the computer generated sentiment.
This is my favorite, of course the dark tag I did last. I love the background so much. The shimmer really plays it up. It was embossed with the Tim Riveted Texture Fade, and Black Soot Distress Ink was swiped over the raised areas. Gold lace, a rusted heart, and lots of Idea-ology goodness finished this off. I love the turning handle on the heart. I am saving this one for next Valentine's Day for my hubby!

I hope your hands get creatively dirty soon!

  7. Another great video. Beautiful tags, all of them.

I don't know if it's just me and my computer, but I have my speakers up on max and I can barely hear you. I actually find myself straining to try and hear what you are saying.

  12. Really fun tutorial, Anita!! Love the idea of using the art journal to pick up the left over ink. I keep a bag of white and cream CS scraps handy to pick up all the lovely ink. Don't want to waste it. LOL So, I have to go pick up a journal to use....Thanks for such a great idea. Finished tags are super!

  18. Oh, oh, oh... grungy rivet cog heart tag is total genius! Others also lovely, but I think I'll always go for grunge over brights! Wonderful work! Am shattered after wedding shenanigans (check out Words and Pictures today if you get a chance!), so will return to learn from the video when I've recovered a little...
